Best food OFF of the Point.

There are two Berardi's. One is in Sandusky, on Perkins Ave, about 1/4 mile west of Rt. 4 (or a little less than 2 miles west of Rt. 250). The other is on Rt. 6 (Cleveland Road) in Huron, just east of the Huron River. And yes, it is the same Berardi family.

margaritaville is my favorite place off the point, but i also enjoy the fridays in the radisson. it is a really nice place. they have a huge tv that always has OHIO STATE BUCKEYE FOOTBALL on saturdays. we had this slow (mentally) waiter but he was really cool. they have good service and it was really quick. that guy probably filled my raspberry lemonade 10 times. the radisson is a very nice place to stay btw. i went out on the balcony and i yelled hey i see power tower. i was joking around but then my bro said man thats cool. i looked closer and i saw power tower from my room! i hope i can spot mf when i stay there again.

I agree with Damon's and Margaritaville. Try Chet and Matt's for great pizza (near the Sandusky Mall) or BW-3 for wings (also near mall).

Finally, no trip to Sandusky is complete without a visit to Toft's Ice Cream on State Road 6 West. By far the best damn ice cream I've ever had.
cheeseonastick: The Denny's in Huron is gone? OH NO!! NOW where will I get ignored during after-Point hours just before I hop back onto S.R. 2??? I might as well eat at the Rax at the "Oasis" on the Turnpike @ mile marker 100 (or is that mm 110, with S.R. 4 @ mm 120)....oh wait, that's long gone now, too, LOL....

I'll second the vote for BW3 :) (Not that I've been to the Sandusky one, but if it's consistent with the ones I have been to it'll be good... ;) )
Count a third vote for BW3's. From a CP employee's perspective, it's a great place to chill with the crew dogs if you don't feel like kickin' it hardcore at Louie's. Consistent food quality and a decent (for Sandusky) variety of beers on draft.

Whistle Stop is on the right hand side, near a couple of drive throughs along route 6 in Sandusky proper.

There is a small place in downtown Sandusky, a courner grill. Just down from the Candy shoppe. (sic) I can't recall the name. Anyway, I got a really great Burger there. And the chocolate malt was great too. Older folks working there.

I like the Damon's near Battery Park. Nice view, and they serve Mac and Cheese!

Its a shame the Denny's closed, I ate a number of times there with a friend that worked at CP.

I'm looking forward to the summer. I have a good friend whose family owns a house on the Chausee, we will be staying there more than a few nights.

Haven't any of you heard of Daley's. Little bar right across from where the ferry used to dock. Great wings, cold beer, and a nostalgic atmosphere make this a great place to chill out after a hard day of working at the point or hitting the rides.
Yup, I know Daley's (sp?). Nice atmosphere, but I haven't been back since I had some exceptionally bad service (big surprise right?). Perhaps I'll try it again this summer though.

Okay, I concur. The service at Daley's tends to be rather slow (to put it nicely)but it's one of those places that seem to harbor good memories.
Damon's is my friend.
I like Damon's and Ruby Tuesday. Of course I have o shamelessly plug the Applebee's on Rt. 250, only because I work at an Applebee's here at home!! It is all good eating, and relatively good service!

My friends and I have twice experienced insects in food when at different Applebees. And also we experienced extremely poor service at the one in Sandusky. We were there for 2 hours and hadn't gotten our food yet, and the waitress had long since taken our orders. Then, they gave us the wrong orders, when we asked where our orders were, and the food was cold and not good at all. Needless to say, we don't eat at Applebee's anymore.

I personally think that menu is crappy that I wouldn't go there.

My most frequent stop after the park is probably Wendy's on Rye Beach Rd., since it's on-the-way yet close to the park. And no one seems to go there.
