This coming weekend will be the wrap on this season at CP. Unfortunately, I didn't make it up North for a visit. So, I can't offer a best/worst, but I will say for us who didn't make it - losing the blog at the CP website was a major downer. Best may have been (although it remains to be seen) the company not being sold.
For those of you who did make it to the Point this year, what are your votes for best/worst of the season?
Best: Bigger Free Water Cups during the beginning of the season
Worst: Going back to the shot glass water cups by the end of the season
Best: 25 cent cannons on Shoot the Rapids
Worst: Riding Shoot the Rapids
Best Capacity: Millennium Force
Worst Capacity: Mean Streak
Best Ride Crew: TIE: Iron Dragon and Paddlewheel Excursions
Worst Ride Crew: Top Thrill Dragster
Best Show: Everyone Loves Snoopy
Worst Show: Hot Summer Lights
Best Food: Chippery
Worst Food: None
Best New Addition: Red Gold Ketchup
Worst New Addition: Shoot the Rapids
I'll probably add a few things here or there in this thread but here are two that stand out.
Worst - Millennium Force routinely opening late, well after early ride time begins.
Worst - Some ride op on Raptor. The girl kind of rubbed me the wrong way a few times, but this past time ticked me off. I was waiting for the third row and it was ERT so the rows weren't very deep. I noticed a couple get in the front row and three people waiting to board behind them. Since the three wanted to ride together the front row had two empty seats. The ride op basically yelled in the mic "Make the two people in the front get up and wait, they can wait, let the three ride and when two other people come up they can fill the whole row". I don't know if they aren't allowed to run the front row with two open seats, but her tone really ticked me off.
Wow....This year is already over.
It went by fast.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Best: Enjoying the park!
Worst: Rides seemed to be not ready for the season, and many had lots of downtime (chaos, shoot the rapids)
Best Capacity: Millennium
Worst Capacity: Shoot the Rapids
Best Show: Sideshow Carnival of Magic
Worst Show: Starlight Experience, seemed to be really lacking last year's experience
Best Food: ChicFill-a
Worst food: Stockade
Another comment I have this year, is that it seemed many of the employees were not very friendly and in some cases pure nasty. I can think of a few options to fix this... But the guests should not have to deal with it.
Visual Scan!
First Top Thrill Dragster train of 2011!
Rollbacks: 1st Triple Rollback of 2009!
I don't know if they aren't allowed to run the front row with two open seats, but her tone really ticked me off.
No such policy or rule exists. In fact, it would reduce capacity because the two people would need to get out, gather their crap from the bins, then the crew would reopen the gates (assuming they were closed) and load the 3 other people.
If the ride is busy they might do crowd control and prequeue everyone so the trains are completely full. When I worked the ride we did it every now and then.
Best Visit - June 30, 2010, Commercial Shoot for Shoot the Rapids
Worst Visit -- None, the above was my only visit!
I'm too sexy for my harness!

LOL Nice. :)
Worst Food: None
Saywhaaa??? That's even funnier than the StR joke. ;)

Most improved: the Friday evening HalloWeekend pizza buffet at Midway Market, the new pizza and a fairly amazing price ($8.99 for Platinum Pass holders) made for one of the more pleasant surprises of the season.
Least improved: Starlight Experience, the park finally does something relatively innovative and quickly lets it fall into disrepair.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
Best: Second year of Screamsters
Worst: Mean Streak, in the dark, hands up, eyes closed, last row. (It seemed like a fun idea haha)
Best Capacity: Raptor
Worst Capacity: Maverick!
Best Ride Crew: Paddlewheel/Millenium/Mean Streak
Worst Ride Crew: Raptor (attitude not speed)
Best Show: Rock Band Live/Edge of Madness
Worst Show: Everyone Loves Snoopy (Only because I dislike figure skating, production and crew were awesome)
Best Food: Apples with fresh hot caramel!
Worst Food: None
Best New Addition: All of the Halloweekends changes
Worst New Addition: Red Gold Ketchup

Best: Magnum crew was kicking ass on my visits.
Worst: The point is now 1050 miles away from me instead of 175.
Best: Magnum ride with Jesz :)
Worst: The fact I only made it to the point twice all season. What a busy storm season!
Thank you for showing Paddlewheel some love. Had alot of fun this season telling cheesy and corny jokes.... brought to you by Doritos.
I am assuming it's you, Cory? I'm gonna have to say that PWE did have an awesome crew, you guys always kept me company at the jungle, and I rode it during splits on occasion.
Best: Raptor during fireworks with Eric @ TTD/MF lockers 4th of July
Worst: getting water sprayed on us during Gemini ride night
Best: Cedar Point pep rally. The only pep rally I ever was actually excited about in my life.
Worst: My cousin vomited after getting off the gemini, haha
Best: First hill of gemini, eyes closed. Freaks me out every single time.
Worst: Sweeping in the rain in 40 degree weather
Best: Most of the guests were great! I loved hearing stories, and it was really awesome when people would take a genuine interest in my life. I tried to be as cheerful as I could every day, because it's your vacation, and my job.
Worst: There were always those guests that were uncooperative, the complainers, the smokers who cussed me out, the line jumpers who cussed me out...
Best: Kicking line jumpers out of line. Gotta say there's a power trip to it, and it's nice to actually be able to enforce some Cedar Point rules. One time, I hurdled under some MF queues to kick out a group of teenagers, and a whole bunch of people applauded me. It's things like that that helped me realize that sweeping is not a completely thankless job.
Worst: public showers at commons dorms
Best: My roommate who was a server at Johnny Rocket's took me out for food there. Best burgers EVER!
Worst: Hate to hate on anyone, but I just didn't feel loved at Iron Dragon crew. You guys all worked great together, and kept up with the pace of it all, but you gotta make room for the noobs! I was only going to be there for a week, but can you let me squeeze into your clique for a second?
Best: Area 2 sweeps and Power Tower crew, you will always have a place in my heart.
Worst: I searched all summer for a cute girl tee, and had to settle.
Best: 50 CENT PIN SALE AT PAGODA!!! I got the hookups with some merch employees, and they found some really great pins in the back. Iron Dragon, gemini, etc. And not that sweet 16 stuff
Worst: I lost a half of my favorite dragster pin on the midway D:
Best: Employee cafeteria food. Oh man. It's Cedar Point food without the arm and the leg. AND they have CAKE. CHOCOLATE CAKE.
Worst: Processing in took a million years
Best: Shoot the Rapids ride night, during crazy rain
Worst: Shoot the Rapids, during every other time.
Best: LADY GAGA DRAGSTER RIDE NIGHT!!!
Worst: missed out on Millennium Force ride night!
Best: Walking to the MF queues at 8:55AM to get first ride
Worst: leaving Cedar Point, and leaving everybody behind :(
I could really go on for forever, and there are far more Best's than worst's. I'll miss you, Cedar Point. Best summer of my life.

Okay, I'll take a go here:
Best: My first ride of my now favorite ride: Wicked Twister (I understand that right now your mouth is hinged open at the sentence. I just thought it was a waste of time to wait half an hour for 45 seconds of ride time, but I was definitely wrong.)
Worst: Shoot the Rapids...
Best Crew: Wicked Twister and Gemini. You people were fun.... (Of course, I don't thing Gemini's crew has ever been anything less then best, they do have one of the best rides in the park.)
*Mean Streak Crew: You were so nice, and I just felt so bad for you guys! You would say: "How was your ride?" And everyone would just respond to you with pain and silence! So for you:
Most Sympathy for a Crew: Mean Streak
Worst Crew: Iron Dragon. You people were not fun...
Another Best: Watching everyone duck and pull their hands down while going up the rafters on Gemini. I laugh every time.
Another Worst: Shoot the Rapids...
Best Food Service (Speed): The Dragon's Inn
Worst Food Service (Speed): The Round-Up, The Burger Patio, The Pizza Patio. Especially the Burger Patio.
Another Best: Watching some lady (who seemed as if she was under the influence of alcohol) dance to "Monster Mash," jiggling her butt around, and tugging on her husband's arm to dance with her, then spilling her Pepsi, but kept dancing anyway...
Another Worst: Accidentally forgetting to look where we parked, and coming out of the park at midnight, having to search for the car for twenty minutes. (You thought I was going to say 'Shoot the Rapids' again, didn't you!)

^ What went on at the Lady gaga ride night???
Best- All the great funny stuff that happened pretty much each time we went during Halloweekends this year...
Best wayy back in 2005- Riding maxair during fireworks with my sister (who is now past away...:( ) had to stick that one in there....
Worst- Walking around in the midway and having these butt-fugly fat "soccer moms" stare at me and my friend as we stroll by...at least 1000 times each time we went to CP.........maybe if they lost some weight, then they wouldn't be so d*** jealous....:)
Lady Gaga ride night was pretty cool, it started about an hour after park close, and went on until around 2AMish. I went on the dragster at least 4 times or so, and it was pretty much walk on. The crew was decked out in Lady Gaga apparel, and construction tape and gaudy things and such, and they blared Lady Gaga music on the speakers. It was a generally awesome night.
The dragster is pretty terrifying at night, since it was so dark you could barely see anything. The bugs were kinda bad from what I remember though, so I refused to sit front seat. But I can now ride the dragster without screaming!
I almost lost my employee ID on the ride, so my first launch I only had one arm up haha

Got my own page on the cedar point blog!!!
Well if we're doing personal experiences, I'll weigh in on that as well:
Best: Maverick Crew during Halloweekends breakdown
Worst: Dragster Crew Late in the season during breakdown
Best: Dragster Crew during breakdown early in the season
Worst: Breakdowns, breakdowns, breakdowns!
Best: 23 visits to the Point!
Worst: 4 visits with a broken leg :(
Worst: Cedar Point in a wheelchair. Either the person stares at you, or they won't look at you. Its the worst.
Best: Special Access Pass: BEST, THING, EVER!
Worst: No ride nights for me this year. :(
Best: Gotta give a shout out to James on the PWE crew. Called him Steve all summer, and made my 17 excursions worth my time. Hilarious dude! :)
Worst: I felt so bad for the Mean Streak crew too! Great group, and I always said hello (rode every visit at least once while it was open), but I just really feel for them when they have a bunch of unethusiastic riders. They really got the short straw.
Best: All of the crews for the rides I rode with my broken leg (too many to list.) You guys helped make my expereince enjoyable, and you really put a smile on my face!
Worst: Some new lady on TTD was an absolute idiot about letting me use my special access pass. Aparently no one on that crew knows how it works, and it took about a half hour to get it all straightened out.
