Do you think that someone could get hut being to tall to ride the major rides.
For instance I am 6'4' and i went on the corkscrew like twice after words my neck was really hurting badly after that ride. The first time i was on the white train and i felt fine but the second time i was on the red train and that one did me in!!! i was OK the whole day on the other rides but the corkscrew was the last ride of the day and that was it for me.
I went and had to goto the hospital like the next day cause i could not get out of the bed and thay told me i had Whiplash!!! i was in a neck brace for over 2 months in pain..My doctor is a coaster rider himself and he told me that the corkscrew did it Probably right where the right at the jump where it goes into the loop!!! He Said that it is one hell of a jerk back and forth!!! Plus i was sitting in the middle too.
I have no Problems With the Harness system on Raptor Or Maverick,I think they need to get with a company to make them new trains that can Accommodate taller People.I know that the ride was built in 76 and tall people were not as common as today and i know that Arrow dose not exist any more. But I know there are companies that could design them new trains to help with this problem.
I have put in my 2 cents about this What dose every one else think about this whole ordeal......thank you for letting me vent my problem.
My brother is 6'10" and he can ride everything up there. He has a little bit of trouble on Mantis, because the seat only goes so high and they make you stand up "straight." Other than that he's fine. There are some coasters/rides that are certainly less comfortable for us, but it's not too bad. I'm too tall for certain rides at other parks, though.

When I worked on Wicked Twister in 2002, I knew a player, Lonnie Jones, from the Ball State University basketball team that was listed in the media guides as being 6' 11'' and he was able to ride without any problem. I thought for sure he was too tall to ride. I did not ask him about any other rides he'd ridden that day.

See the new rides are designed for bigger people or the average height but you have to think that the corkscrew was built in 76 people that were really tall were not that common but now the average height is like almost 6 feet tall. And yes i have a problem on the mantis as well but that is with my knees on that ride.
With the newer rides like wicked twister and raptor and so forth I'm ok But you people know what I'm getting at right?Like i said thay should get a company to redesign the cars for the cork screw so thay are a little bit more comfort able for the taller generation of people in this world Am I right.
It's funny that i can ride Mean Streak and Not have a problem and that ride is rough but the minute i hit the corkscrew I'm done.....and that just really ***** Cause i love that Ride!!!!!
I have a slight problem with my neck. It doesn't bother me all the time, just if I move wrong.
I rode corkscrew once and it bothered my neck, I have not been on since. I can ride every other coaster with no problems. I just don't ride Corkscrew anymore, because I know my limitations.
I'm 6'5" and I've never not been able to ride something because I was too tall. I even managed to fit in Jr. Gemini with my little cousin this summer. Took some leg bending and crossing, but I got that credit!
I know there are some coasters, like the Runaway Reptars and I believe the other Intamin impulse coasters not named Wicked Twister that have a max height of 76" (6'4"). I'll be at Dorney Monday to see if 6'4" really is the tallest you can be for Possessed.
Also, Vekoma flyers have a max height of 80" if I'm not mistaken.
The only ride I have a problem with is Mine Ride. I can still fit, just choose not to squeeze into it anymore. As for Corkscrew, I've never had a problem with fitting on any of the arrow loopers.

The only ride that I was not allowed on because I was too tall, was a wipeout ride at six flags new england.
It was weird, because I have been on several of this same type of ride at many other parks this year.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
It's funny how at CP I have no problem with the ride's, I'm 6'1 with 47 inch shoulders, I have no problem with the restraints at CP, but some at KI I can't ride, there isn't enough room for my big shoulders.
Yeah I've even felt something like Whiplash on Corkscrew, the hill before the loop.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
I am 6'5" and was turned away from voodoo...er.... possessed at Dorney because the tip of my toes barely touched the ground when i stretched my legs downward...
I was also turned away from Bizarro at SFNE. Apparently they've begun to enforce maximum height rules... fortunately I was able to slouch past the height measurer later in the day a few times.

I have also had issues at six flags new england.
The seats on bizzaro are very uncomfertable if you are tall. Plus, for some reason they feel like they have to staple you.

The "problems" at SFNE could also be due to their having let a guy fall out of SMROS a few years ago. They've probably just gotten extra strict about the ride requirements.

I have quite a bit of experience in this area - I'm 6'9". Over the past 30 years, I've very rarely had a problem with any rides or coasters - exceptions being a couple of large flats mentioned above.
The interesting thing to me is that someone mentioned that newer coasters seem to accommodate larger people - except for B&Ms, I find the opposite to be true. Until a few years ago, the thought of being too tall NEVER entered my mind for any ride. Now some of the ride manufactures and parks place height maximums their new rides - a very disturbing trend to me, obviously.
In my opinion, higher coasters + crazier layouts + litigation = more and tighter restraints and park restraint policies. I keep wondering when, if ever, this trend will end.

I didn't realize Bizarro had that max height. I'll have to do my best to sneak on there whenever I get the chance. And I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for Possessed. I was next in line in the station for that last year and I hadn't gotten stopped by anyone for being too tall. So we'll see.
I'v been kicked off Mine Ride for being too tall. I don't ride Corkscrew cuz it hurts to bad so I don't know about that one.
Let's Get Weird.
Ypu have to know your limits. If you look on the website it says,
"Due to rider restraint system requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to, men who exceed 6’2”, or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40” waistline or 52” chest or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear size 18 or larger. Each person has different body proportions so it is not possible to list exact size and weight.
Our larger guests may experience difficulty on Blue Streak, Chaos, Corkscrew, Disaster Transport, Mantis, Maverick, maXair, Mean Streak, Millennium Force, Mine Ride, Power Tower, Raptor, Skyhawk, Top Thrill Dragster, Wave Swinger, Wicked Twister."
Cedar Fair is not going to change the seats for anyone. This is how i think of it. You have to fit the procedures for the ride. The ride doesn't fit the procedures for you.
