Being too tall for some rides???

I have not been to CP since the crap hit the fan a couple of years back when the restraints were changed. There was a very large thread back then about waist size/height/weight and being able to fit on MF/TTD/etc…

I will be taking my family next week. I am not worried about myself as I fit then and my body shape has not changed. So I expect to fit now. However, I was looking at the official CP website and it mentioned that those taller than 6’2” may not be able to ride everything. I am now very worried about my son. He is close to 6’6” and 200 lbs. Does anyone have any experience with being too tall for any rides? Can you tell me which rides may cause the most trouble?

OMG - this is a fun story for me. My husband (6'5) muscular - 260lb...got stuck on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

When his legs wouldn't fit into the back car - the operators put him in the front, had him cross his ankles and they got him in. The best part was that it took nearly 20 minutes - partly due to laughing - and yelling at me and the ride op's for laughing - to get him out.

But get this - he missed getting on the MF by - litteraly the width of his phone (another thread) but could ride the Snoopy Race Car ride w/ the nephews.

The Blue Streak may give a little resistance - but the very front seat of the front car isn't too bad. Same with the Cork Screw. My hubby was advised - always try for the front seat of the front car - it usually has the most leg room.

Cheers!

He might be too tall for Wicked Twister. I'm sure they'll let you know at the entrance to the ride.

He should be okay on most attractions. I would, however, recommend that he chooses the front seat of a car on any roller coaster he rides. They tend to have quite a bit more leg room.

I have lots of experience in this area.

I'm 6'9" and 260 lbs, and can ride nearly every ride at Cedar Point (haven't tried maXair or Skyhawk yet). Granted, fitting in some rides is more challenging than others, but I'm not completely uncomfortable on any ride. The one that comes to mind that will be a challenge is Disaster Transport.

I'm sure you'll hear this ad nauseum, but it really does depend on the person's body type....if you need more specifics, feel free to email me.

Disaster Transport more of a problem than Cedar Creek Mine Ride? I'm only 6' and have to do the cross your ankles thing on Mine Ride.

My brother is 6'5" and rode Delirium at PKI one year and was told he was too tall the next. I mention this since maXair is the same attraction.

Thanks all. The most important to him is TTD. If he can get on this then I think any other ride will be a disappointment but not a trip breaker.

He has ridden Delirium before. But that was two year ago. He was quite a bit shorter then.

No. DT has more leg room than Mine Ride. I have to cross my legs for CCMR, but not DT. Another reason Tranny rocks!

Sorry, I just know how everybody calls MF Millie and Magnum Maggie, but nobody has any affectionate names for Disaster Transport. So, anybody got a problem with Tranny?

Other than it brings disturbing images to mind? ;) No, I have no problem with it.

Diaster Transport is creepy!

i have some trouble getting into maxair, and it is some what of a uncomfortable ride.

I'am 6'4 and can't fit into corkscrew anymore the rest of the rides are ok but i do have to cross my ankles on many rides but being close to 6'6 good luck getting on some things.....dragster shoud be ok? to get on.

Well, it's either that or Dizzy. Maybe Ditzy.

Let's try it out... I was riding Ditzy last night and boy was it running dark...

Still doesn't feel right.

'DT' doesn't work for me either, 'cause it sounds like only druggees and alcoholics should ride it.

My last trip I was with my friend who is only 5'9" but becuase of the length of his legs he couldn't ride raptor, wicked twister, or maxair. While we were getting on mantis, which he could ride, there was someone who was about 6'3" or so that couldn't ride because he was too tall.

Like Doug Rowe said it all depends on your body type.

Yeah, I have the same problem with that too...

Ensign - how about DisTrans?

Nahh - nevermind, that sounds to ebonic. I like Tranny - it is creepy and that's kind of what Diaster Transport is - for me at least. I'm socked that ride is still around. However it is one of the more easier rides to fit into.
