Is that a Becan Light at the top of the MF in this picturehttp://www.cedarpoint.com/thrill/millennium/mf_crest.htm
If it is that is huge.
Sure looks like it.

Bart Simpson: Hell yeah.
Man that pic looks like your going to drop right into the water!!

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

Yep, that's an aircraft BEACON, and it's larger even than my head.

I prefer my eggs scrambled with beacon.

They should put a damn lighthouse up there! Its sure tall enough, and maybe they could get some money back from it! Kidding of course.
(it occurs to this user that there was once a lighthouse on the Po!nt...)

(though I'm sure it was significantly shorter than 310 feet... ;))

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?" (as stated by my best-friends about CP)
Man, won't that hurt your eyes going beside that on the night rides.
Jeff, is BEACON an acronem(sp)? if so; what does it stand for?
-------------
Certain rides may NOT be for you...
I was just wondering- Jeff, how do you know that the beacon is larger than your head- have you been up there- or did you see it before it was put in place? I have a feeling you've already ridden this thing!!

Teresa T
Ridden: I HIGHLY doubt it. Been up there.......well...........

I don't think it is an ACRONYM, I think he put it in caps to highlight that "becan" was spelled wrong!
Yes, initially I wondered if the thread was in reference to the nuts used for that South Shore delicacy, becan pie...
And I suppose on the North shore, you can have your Canadian Becan.
In any case, it's not something you expect to find at the top of a 310-foot lift hill.

Wow... we're sinking to new lows in boredom! Did Kennywood last weekend, what park can I whore myself out to this weekend?
I haven't been on it, but I can tell the beacon is large by comparison with the catwalk and track (despite some "bending" caused by the use of a wide-angle lens). I've also seen one up close as a spare for a radio tower.
16 days...
