Beacon Light

I'm surprised that it has not been mentioned here but last Thursday the beacon light was placed ontop of the Force.

what is this beacon light, what does it do? why is it a big deal?

It's not a big deal. It's just a flashing light that the FAA requires you put on top of tall structures. I guess it might be significant because few coasters are tall enough to require a beacon.

It should be noted, however, that Blue Streak has one. I don't think it's used, but there is a red light on top of that old woodie.
