Beach Midway Theme

I heard rumors a couple of years ago that they were gonna turn the oceanic midway into an actual beach midway type thing that you would see at myrtle beach or Daytona beach or some of the beaches that you see out in Cali.. That probably explains why (besides the fact that they couldnt put the rides anywhere else) they moved chaos and troika over there. I think they need to remove DT (even though it's an awesome ride) and put in a small out-n-back coaster just like on a real oceanic midway along with some other puker rides (flat rides). Anyone else agree?

I put that rumor out there, and at the time it seemed like it might actually materialize. It kind of started to with the move of Giant Wheel as a focal point, but then the Impulse came along (not even on the radar in '98) and they found they could get life out of Oceana with a dive show.

With Wicked Twister as it is, I can't see it happening the way it was once described to me.

I'd like to see a pier built where Ocean Motion and the "Beach Entrance" is with a GCI twister built on top of it. Kind of a throwback to Santa Cruz and Coney Island.

Who uses the Beach Entrance anyways? I've used everyone but that one.

What a natural place for a food stand that sells Lake Erie perch! Sandiwches, by the pound, you name it. A perch stand next door to a fries stand? That's a natural, especially down by the water!

Beer Battered and Deep Fried lake perch and chips....now if only we could convince them to serve a tasty Guinness (for less than 11 dollars a pint) with it we'd be all set....

If you did put that rumor out, i didnt here it from you. My mom had heard it from someone or somewhere and this was back when they were putting WT in even if it is there you could still go with the theme even if WT isnt something you would see on most board walks (cp is always known to be different :)) They should tear down DT and put in a small out-n-back coaster

There's something I had not considered. If you pulled down Oceana and Disaster Transport, that's a lot of beach-front property. Never thought about that.

WOW!!! i thought of something before jeff thought of it. ;) just messin with you Jeff. Cp would have even more beach front property if they went out to the right of disaster transport (after tearing it down) cause i noticed a couple of years ago, standing in the line of demon drop, they have alot more property there and it would be plenty for a really nice woody. (hopefully by CCI)

CCI is dead. GCI or Gravity Group would be good though.

I agree with tearing down DT and puttin in an out & back, and I like the idea of making it like a beach midway, that'd be sweet. Its always nice to see theming, well I like it.

Can't wait for 07 season!

i agree with taking DT out but they wont for the fact that they also use the building for storage. But if you could get the ride out and trim the building down then more power to you. I would love to see Gravity group make a simular version to Shivering Timbers at CP but they would have to make it a hell of a lot better to just prover the even if CCI is dead there former engineers are not. I also like the hole Pier idea with a GCI twister on it that be great.

Are you guys forgetting that just across the park there is already an out and back wooden roller coaster that is directly parallel to the one you guys want to be built?

It's not a good point at all. Early CP had three wooden coasters all running very nearly parallel.

so what that was earlier in Cedar points life. I am not saying that it wouldn't be a bad idea to build one right across the way. But it would have to be a differnt one or more interesting outand back the blue streak in order for it to go in. Like everyone says cedar point doesn't build two of the same rides.

So lets forget the coaster for now and why odnt we put some more pukers (flat rides) out on that midway it would greatly add more to that area of the park and it may also liven up that area.
