Beach Access?

Hey everyone! I know I haven't been around here for a while, but I drew back into a lurking mode for the most part.

I have thought of an interesting question for everyone. With Gatekeeper placed as it is, it looks to me like there is a lot of room between Wicked Twister and Gatekeeper, based on what I have seen from webcams, renderings and what not.

There is a lot of open space there, so I was wondering if they have announced anything to do with that area yet? It seems to me that this wide opening could be used as access to the beach, or space for other things.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

I doubt it. Unless they fenced it off, they'd have to create another gate.

While they would need to fence off the beach, I really wish they would utilize whatever space they can behind those rides along the beach. At least, put in a walkway with tables and chairs. It looks like there will be room between the rides to access a beach walkway without putting in a separate entrance.

Back before Wicked Twister was put in,there was a fenced area next to DT. It had benches and was good for cooling off with the lake breeze on hot summer days.

It will definitely be fenced off. I just don't think that it will extend into the beach.

Perfect area for boardwalk entrance?

I was hoping maybe a picnic area with shade, benches, tables, and what not. I'm not saying extend all the way to the lake, but a fenced off area that could be utilized as a rest area or something of the like.

I don't think there'll be beach access. Probably just a continuation of that fencing used for Wicked Twister to separate the beach from the new plaza. I can see some tables and chairs going into this area. I think there's supposed to be a shaded seating area near the consession stands and by where Space Spiral used to be, and I don't think they'd want to block the beach view by adding large umbrellas or structures so I'm guessing that there won't really be shade in this new area along the beach. But who knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

I like the Idea of a picnic area along the beach. Now that I think about it, don't we already have beach access already at the entrance next to Windseeker? All you have to do is walk there, get your hand stamped and you are on the beach.

You can also go out the resort gate by Magnum for beach access. For that matter, you don't even need to enter the park. Just drive around Perimeter Rd. Back when you could buy a stand alone parking pass, I was told that there was a small percentage of local residents got the parking passes and no park passes just so they'd have access to a nice beach.
