Bay Harbor Dining

I had a quick question for all you pro CPers, is the resturant Bay Harbor dining open in the off season? A friend of mine that lives on the one street with all the willows,( I cant remember the name for the life of me) says that there is a lot of activity over there and that she sees people going up there on the weekendends and leaving around midnight. Maybe someone knows what goes on there if they are not open.

Thanks for the info!!

Bay Harbor is open during the offseason. I went last year in April for a birthday. It was not crowded. The food was very good and it was kinda neat to be at the park around all the rides in silence. If you are going with mate/ spouse go around sunset and sit for a while on a bench by the marina. It's real nice. I believe the restaurant opens at 5pm during the offseason.

Give them a call. They'll answer any questions you have and fax you a menu if you'd like.

Sky-rider you are right. I just went to Bay Harbor last Thursday (March 13) around sunset time with my girlfriend and it was great. That is one of the nicest places I have ever been to eat. I agree it was interesting to see the place so quiet but it sucked because I wanted to ride so bad. By the way, it was great having a chance to see TTD in person.

Do they still enforce a dress code in the off-season? Might be something you want to ask.

I've only been there in-season. I generally go closing weekend. The food is pretty outstanding, as well it should be for what it costs. The only thing I don't like about it is the snobby marina folk that often gather there. Last time I was there some woman was talking about her martini parties and shopping trips to New York so we could all hear her. Sad that people need to do that to feel important.

Jeff, when we went they didn't seem to have a dress code. If they did I feel stupid because I definately was not dressed to code. They didn't say anything to me though. Its funny that you mention people being loud and in need of attention. Shortly after we arrived a party was sat next to us who were very loud and seemed as if they tried to sound really intelligent. I kinda had the feeling they were some posers, now I know.

This past season the guest services crew went to Bay Harbor to celebrate two crew member's birthdays that were in the same week. While we were there Mr. Kinzel came in and came over and talked to us because he recognized us since we work in the office on the main gate. Towards the end of our dinner our server came out with the dessert tray and told us Mr. Kinzel would like to treat us all to dessert. (There were nearly 20 of us with crew and friends) It was definitely a memorable night!

Ahhh, the Bay Harbor. Good stuff. I believe this time of year the bar opens at 4 and dinner begins at 5. The Bay Harbor's dress code is not that strict anyway, but it does seem a little 'classier' in the off season. You know, none of that park riff-raff wandering in :-) I plan on going again next week.

If you've never been to the Bay Harbor Inn, I highly recommend it, whether during the season or in the winter. If you want good prime rib, you may have to go on the weekend though. Last time I was there, they weren't serving it during the week.

I was not aware of any dress code the numerous times I have eaten at Bay Harbor. I have worn anything from shorts and polo shirts in the summer to jeans and t-shirts in the winter.
