We've been to Michigan's Adventure, Canada's Wonderland and King's Island so far this year and have been told that footwear must be worn on all rides, including the water rides (not water park). Raptor, Thunderhawk, Windseeker, etc. being exceptions.
Last year we did Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon barefoot. Does anyone know if this is still possible or has Cedar Fair made a "no barefoot" policy across all of the parks?
Verified: I rod all three barefoot yesterday. And a few weeks ago, I had to wear shoes on Kings Island's rapids ride.
One word of warning, though: the Snake River Falls exit deck can be rough on the feet.

I had a pretty embarrassing experience with shoes & water rides at Kings Island. My family and I went on the Wild Thornberry's River Adventure Log Flume; I really didn't want to get my brand new Nike shoes ruined. Not knowing my shoes had to be on during the ride, I took them off on the lift. The whole ride stopped and one of the ride hosts kindly explained to me that the shoes gotta stay on. People were mad that the whole ride stopped because of me.
Do be warned that if you ever go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, shoes *are* required for Escape from Pompeii. Also note that the lockers where one might store their shoes before getting in line is a good hike around the large pond, and you'll waste both time and money wandering back to get them. :) Also, enjoy walking around in wet socks afterward.
I just go up to the hotel room, put on swim clothes and water shoes and head back into the park to ride the water rides.
Everyone looks at me funny in Soak City because my water shoes actually look like shoes, i have stubbed my toes and scraped the hell out of my feet too many times on the Renegade River, so water shoes all the time in there for me! That SRF bridge does hurt like hell in bare feet! Or trying to walk on the beach on a hot day, i cannot stand that kind of pain!

I was always under the impression that footwear of any kind was not permitted on most attractions at Soak City? I guess it's sad that I don't know for sure, considering I spent several hours working slide tops in 08.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
When we got on thunder canyon we took our shoes off and put them in the center of the boat.

Warning to those leaving their shoes in the Thunder Canyon buckets. My sister in law had her shoes stolen from there, they were not any kind of expensive shoes or anything so someone must have just wanted a differnt pair for the day. The funny part was that she had to walk out to the car to get a pair of flip flops to wear the rest of the day, and this must have been the day when security was out in full force looking for everything because she was told by just about every CP Police officer to put her shoes on.

+1 on the water shoes, which I'll be getting before my next Soak City trip. Anyone else made the mistake of walking barefoot over to the "infield" area of Main Stream? I love that it's a relatively secluded, quiet area, but damn that sand (or whatever) is hot!
Why did they decide to use cat litter for that beach area instead of some of the beautiful Lake Erie beach sand? I've wondered about that since Soak City opened.
If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!

I know for sure that they are not allowed on the water slides.
