Bar over by Luminosity...

Hello all!

Heading to CP this Thursday... Wouldn't mind getting a cocktail somewhere during the day to walk around with but most places seem to only have beer and those Limaritas drinks in a can or whatever they're called.

I think that bar by Luminosity serves a bunch of different drinks but is it only open during Luminosity? If not, any other places to get a cocktail?

Thanks!

Melt, Chickies & Pete, Surf Lounge, TGIFriday's, Famous Dave's, Bay Harbor. Don't know if they let you into the park with a cocktail from a place outside the park.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Thanks. I am aware of all of those places but was looking for a walk up stand in the park where you can get something to walk around the park with...

Hmm. If that exists I am unaware. The only other place I can think of is the newish Frontier Tavern. I think, though, they have only specialty beers and local wines.

The Frontier Trail Tavern has moonshine, but it's not a full bar, unfortunately. The bar by Luminosity serves cocktails? I always thought they were beer/wine/a-rita only as well. You may be able to go into Melt and get a cocktail in a to go cup, but I'm really not sure. I generally walk over to the surf lounge and get a double captain and diet, then hang on the beach for a bit.

Yea I don't think the bar by Luminosity has any kind of cocktails. The one by the bleachers doesn't even have draft beer and is usually only open close to show time. The little stand near Valravn had like two or three taps I think, but no cocktails. I'd say the best bet is probably Melt as I don't think you'd be allowed to enter the park with a drink from any of the outside places.

^^I'm sorry but what they offer as "Moonshine" is pathetic and watered down/disgusting. There are so many other companies that produce "Moonshine" that's much better. The fake Mason Jar crap sucks though.

Yeah, but it's what they can legally sell given the liquor license they probably have. I mean, it's 70 proof (Except for the unflavored they used too have, which was 90) so it's not like it's the diluted stuff you get at a supermarket. Still not the best thing I've ever had, but honestly, in terms of value - ABV for $$, it's there.

My partner and I went to CP yesterday for the afternoon and had Melt for the first time and sat at the bar. We weren't starving but were pretty hungry so we split a half turkey club which was excellent BTW. We each had a tall Dortmunder and then ordered a third and split that and tab was only $35 before tip! We agreed that the place is awesome and even 2 full grown men splitting a half sandwich in half and being full after was kind of funny. I didn't think of asking for a to go cup for beer but I don't see why they wouldn't, even if its a mixed drink? Earlier in the year we got 2 Stella's at the Red Garter for almost $23! We have a new favorite place now. He does like CP and our passes but I drive him nuts with constant info as I am pretty sure that everyone around most of us on here has the same complaints LOL. I told him how some people whined about how Melt was near a kiddie area and the kids should not have to see that. Well he came right back and said, if i'm sitting at the Melt patio and having a few beers I don't want to see kids in the kiddie area! Touche.....

I agree about the pricing. Melt is the best value on point, food-wise.

Some could argue Midway Market, but a buffet is a completely different story.

We went to that Melt a few weeks back, and for 2 adults and a kid - half sandwiches with fries and 2 beers, it was $48! We spend that much when we go to Melt outside of CP - so I really didn't see much of a difference.

Too bad! I thought that bar by the Luminosity stage did serve cocktails. Good to hear about the Frontier Trail Tavern though! I do love wine!

If you never tried it, I highly recommend it. I doubt you'll be disappointed. The workers there are very knowledgeable about what they're serving, in our experience, and the selections change occasionally as the season progresses.
