Awesome woodie idea for CP! :-)

As we know CP loves to do records if they can get a good ROI out of it and they usually loves high capacity rides. True CP has a racing coaster called Gemini and it IS a good ride with AIRTIME! :-) But they do not have an out & back racer or dueling coaster and a record breaker racing style would not be that hard to do. A single track out & back woodie like Shivering Timbers as great as it would be would not be as unique as a racing one since CP has Blue Streak. Here is my suggestion: Have CCI or Intamin do a design on the beach behind WT and DT similar to Rebel Yell with a 135'-165' lifthill and a 148-150 foot drop (which I think is CCI's limit) with a 70-72 degree first drop than make the track at least 4800' which should break the record breaking 4650' length of the American Eagle. The ride should also be designed to handle 3 trains per side to have it handle 3000-3500 pph. I think CCI could easily do this ride for $8-12 million which is CHEAP by CP standards and provides a WORLD CLASS AIRTIME MACHINE. that would still be smooth enough for the GP. Also it would hurt to throw in a few tunnels to the ride either.
Wow...wouldn't that be nice! Like I said in the footers on the beach post though, I don't see Cedar Point building right there on the beach, behind Wicked Twister and Disaster Transport. Although, the more I think about it, it would be an awesome location for a CCI woodie. Maybe soemthing reminiscent of The Great White at Morey's Piers. Just think....CP would have a steel coaster with wood supports and a wood coaster with steel supports :)

Well, whatever, they do, I think Cedar Point needs a world-class woodie. Not to say that I don't love the ones they already have, but as far as I know, Cedar Point does not have any woodies that currently have a worldwide reputation. A new wooden coaster at CP would be AWESOME! Oh man, thinking about Cedar Point is getting me excited...must...find...paper bag....wheeeze...

Wait...don't they have a woodie with a worldwide reputation? OH, you mean good reputation! My bad ;)

Sounds Interesting, I will also check when I go on Wed., I'll take a look from a few different places.

Couple of things: Correct me all if I'm wrong but Son of Beast, the hyper-woodie at PKI, has a drop of 215 feet I believe, and was designed by CCI. Also, 4800' wouldn't do justice for the longest woodie. Shivering Timbers, as you mentioned, is over a mile I believe. Also, The Beast and Son of Beast have 7000'+ track lengths.

Now I know that Cedar Point does not have a space problemâ„¢, but personally I don't see the space for a 7000+ foot long woodie.

That wouldn't break any length records...The Beast and Son of Beast destroy that length.

SOB was not done by CCI. No chance of that.

The original post was referring to longest racing or dueling woodie... not the longest woodie overall.

Yes you got that right probie I was not talking about all woodie records just the racing and deuling woodie records since they are not as hard to beat.
I don't think they will build a racing or dueling wooden coaster, or any coaster for that matter, because they already have Gemini.
But Gemini is a twister (figure 8 style) and with a steel track and what I am suggesting is an out & back design with a wood track and structure which is a completely different ride. Now a tera coaster would seem much less likely since it would be too similar to Magnum and MF. I'm not counting on CP to build this ride but I don't think it would be a bad fit either plus they can make it BOTH family and thrillseeker friendly like Shivering Timbers.
