Walt/Jeff:
O.k., so i wanted to upload a new avatar (.gif, 90x90 and 4,9 kb), so I went into "My Account" and checked the "Delete this avatar" box, then hitting "Submit Edit". Avatar deleted. Here comes the problem:
When I tried to upload my new avatar, it just came up with my old avatar picture. Weird. I deleted it again, submitted the edit, uploaded the "new" one - and the old one appeared again. Hmmm... I tried to look at some of my posts, and yes, it was still the old avatar. Sooo, I gave it another try, but by accident, I hit "Delete account" instead of "Submit edit", and even though I closed the window in panic, my account was deleted. Then I had to create a new account, using my same mail address, password etc. And THEN I could upload my new avatar without any problems. I don´t care about my post counter being "reset", and my "joined date" being set forward (unless you can fix it to match my old settings), I just thought I would let you know about the problem.

Ok, this may sound crazy but here goes.
I'm having the same issue. I tried refreshing the page, going out to the forums and back to account settings. Heck, I even logged out and back in, and THAT didn't work.
Anyone have any other ideas?
UPDATE: Well, seems to have fixed itself. It was the old avatar earlier today, but it is now on the new one. Not sure what happened.

Goodbye MrScott
John
Well, don't hit "Delete Account".
There was another thread around here with other solutions.
Try here.
Goodbye MrScott

Some of you are also trying to upload avatars as profile photos. Two different things and both are uploaded differently.
If your profile photo isn't being approved, read this:
