August 8th - 9th

Well, I'm FINALLY going to Cedar Point this week, after 2 attempts which ended up getting cancelled due to weather (storms the first time, heat the second).

But today we made hotel reservations for Tuesday night, we purchased and printed out our Ride And Slide 2-day ticket, and I'm set and ready to roll.

Anyone planning on being at the park on Tuesday and Wednesday?! I'll be around somewhere.

Sorry for the double post, but I need to ask this.

What time does the actual park itself open. I know the rides open at 10, but what time do the gates open. Is it 9:30?! Thats what time they start letting people in? I wasn't sure, so I thought I should ask.

Thanks for any help! ;)

Well, the basic answer, is yes, unless you're a Joe Cool Club member or a Resort Guest, in which case you can get in at 9:00 to ride Millennium Force, maXair, Raptor, and Skyhawk, weather and maintenance permitting.

Alrighty. I thought it was 9:30. I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

Oh, and another thing. I read that on some of the bigger rides you need to have a glasses strap for glasses. Is that 100% true?! Cause I've been to other parks that say you need glasses strap, but they let you ride with them on anyway even if you dont have one.

A strap is required for your glasses on TTD, WT and Skyhawk. I'd be blind without them, so I don't take any chances on other rides either.

You don't really need the glasses strap. They will let you ride without it on. I would recommend getting one though. I lost mine one day last year on raptor. It wasn't a big deal for me since they were just sunglasses but if they're worth anymore than $10 a strap isn't to bad. *** Edited 8/7/2006 7:38:01 PM UTC by JTaylor***

Glasses must be secured with an athletic strap on maXair, Power Tower, Skyhawk, Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister.

Just FYI if you need a glasses strap, I believe that they sell them in two packs at the dollar store.

9:30 is what they advertise but it is 9am for Joe Cool til later in the season. They let everyone else in at 9:30. I'm guessing they figure it takes time to get from the front gate to the rides. After all, your not supposed to run on the midways. HA,HA,HA.

Well I'm "everyone else" so I'll be getting in at 9:30.

Either way I'm going to the park tomorrow and Wednesday, so I'm pretty much pumped.

And thanks again to all you guys for your help.
