Articles in local newspaper(s)

Well I live about 700 miles away from the Point and I read an article about the Point. Well it wasn't really just an article it had the front page of Raptor then on the inside on page 12,13 it said stuff about how Magnum was voted No.1 and MF was No.2 and how Cedar Point was voted the best park in the WORLD.The last page (14) just told haw kick Booty the park was and all the good stuff about it. Last I was wondering if anyone else has seen it It was in "The News Gazette" and if there are any other such articles in other newspapers.

Dippin Dots aren't they Great!!!
The town that you live in would help in the search for this...
no see the reason I did not put the name of the town is 1 so that people don't know where I live and 2 so the if anyone in that tonw is a member to GTTP then they should speak up.

1) There are two newspapers in the US called the News-Gazette.

2) One is in Lexington, Va - about 500 miles from CP.

3) The other is in Urbana, Illinois - about 400 miles from CP.

Next?

The Columbus (Columbus-Ohio lol) Dispatch had a big write up in last weeks Sunday paper in the "business" section. There was a huge pic of Raptor with seat 1-4 empty-I told people at work that seat was empty for me ;)
It basically compared the 3 OH major theme parks. The article was called "For Fun and Profit"
It was pretty good, especially when Raptor was listed as one of their signature rides! I or course consider it MY signature ride as well.

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
DBCahill is the man it is the one in Urbana Illinois ok now that people know around where I live it was that one but he is off with the 400 miles I go once a year and round trip is in the ballpark of about 1400 miles.

Then you're taking some kind of detour. I lived in Decatur for five years and my total round trip was just about 900 miles.

In fact, according to mapquest, by taking I-57 N up to I-80 and following that all the way over to Sandusky, the total distance is 396.7 miles (daggone it, I'm good!).

I used to go over to Indy, up I-69 and then some back roads (vs. the interstates) over to Findlay, then up to the Ohio turnpike. Probably shorter, but as much time? I don't remember. I made that trip three times in the late 80's/early 90's before moving back to PA.

At any rate, you could go to CP by way of Pittsburgh and still not have a 700 mile trip on your hands.

I go I-74 to indy then I-69 to 80/90 to Sandusky and it takes 700 mile. and that is me file answer.

Are you sure that Jeff should close this forum? If he does, where are we going to discuss general information? The Millennium Force Fourm? Oh wait, people wanted to close that one too...

Aha! Another person who loves Dippin Dots. Before I read this, I had yet to find another person who even knew what they were...
Millennium Man and everyone else, you don't have to give Jeff or any moderators "permission" to close a forum or tell them when it needs to be closed. That's specifically their job anyways.

Really, closing a fourm is a bad idea unless Jeff makes another one. This site only has five fourms, you know. And dippin dots? I guess you didn't read my trip report yet. DIPPIN DOTS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111

Just to clear things up before calling this thread done...I believe Millennium Rider was simply referring to this topic/thread, not closing the forum in general. Simple mistake; hopefully there won't be any more confusion.

As far as closing this topic--no need to, because a great thing about GTTP is that we know there's nothing more to add to this thread.

Off to bed...
