"We're trying something new this year," Kinzel told
AB. "We're only saying it's a thrill ride so our
marketing people will have something to promote for
our season pass sales."

Wouldn't it be easier to promote a record-breaking coaster than a "thrill ride"? Unless I'm totally misinterpreting what Kinzel is saying... maybe he is saying that they are trying to surprise people?

"But no one is saying what it is, and Dick Kinzel, CEO
of Cedar Fair, which owns the park, told AB he doesn't
plan on announcing it until much later than usual,
although it is already quite obviously under
construction."

I don't like the sound of that.

"We're trying something different this year."

I might be mistaken but I'm pretty sure L-TH-B isn't something different.

I think he meant in regards to publicity.

I think what he meant by that was they are trying something different in promoting this thing.

Ah. I see that that is what he meant now.

I guess we can forget about finding out before the end of the season, and probably before the end of the year. That January announcment seems more and more likely now. Only problem is, they will have a 400 and some foot tower sticking into the sky by then. Everyone will all ready know exactly how tall this thing is going to be long before it is announced, and then when the real announcement is made, no one will care. The waiting is killing me.

Let's ride the "Sky Ride Sponsored By The Ohio Lottery Odds Are You'll Have Fun" Ride!

Awwwww...How am I supposed to follow construction?! Maybe that's the aspect that will piss us off. (I can hope!)

Crap, that's right. Without an announcemt, we don't get construction pics or diary updates. The people on this board that live in Sandusky have their work cut out for them this winter.

Do you think they will keep the webcam up so we can see the construction? We can hope!

The Fast and the Fearless

You bet they'll keep it up. Otherwise, some folks will start to think about (insert entertainment option here) instead of how badly they want the season to open up again.

Present company excepted, of course.
