I found a great post at CoasterBuzz. The poster said it came from another forum, but it certainly applies here.

If you are new here ...

1. Read more, post less.

2. Lurk until you are comfortable with the board's culture then start posting.

3. Don't try to change said culture. It's there, it won't change, deal with it or stop posting.

4. Read more, post less.

I'm not in the business of scaring away new members. I think it's great that we've had hundreds of new members in recent weeks. That said, new members need to understand that it is usually unwise to jump in with both feet without getting a feel for things first (i.e. rule #2).
