Are weekends in May pretty slow generally?

Are there much less crowds than in July and later summer? We are hoping to drive down and back from MI for Saturday the 18.

Also, what is the park open for now since opening day is tomorrow, is the whole park open? I can see like all the coasters testing and I cant wait!!

Thanks P'ers.

I wish I had a link to that crowd forecast calendar, it predicted what crowds might be like throughout the season this year and I think that throughout weekends in May it was Average Size crowds (think late June PRE-4th of July), but it DID say that the normal work-week after opening is predicted to be practically empty. Maybe you could try then?
Yea Id love too but my parents are reluctant to take me out of school, even though Ive got a 4.0 already... :-/

Here's your crowd forecaster:

Other sites have crowd "forecasters," which is really pretty silly. Just look at the park's hours. When the park is open late, crowds are generally larger. When the park is only open until 8, crowds are generally smaller. But unless you can predict the future, you just never know for sure - despite what the so-called "experts" think.

Oh, if lines are slow like in May, can you ride without getting out of the coaster and getting back in line?

No, they ALWAYS make people get off the ride, I ask every time when it is not busy!

P.S. Sorry to the people that run the rides, I think it bugs the crap out of them sometimes.
