Are some of the seats different?

Hi, I have a question about Millenium Force. Last year I could always fit on MF, but it was not always easy. Then on opening day (which i was about 10 pounds lighter than last year) I thought I would have no trouble getting on MF but i barely got on. I just got the half inch of slack which was very surprising to me. So my question is do you think some of the seat belts are just a little shorter on some seats? I don't understand how I could be 10 pounds lighter but yet have a harder time getting on. Anything would be great :) thanks guys.

Arms down, head back, and hold on.....

It has been unofficaly claimed that the seatbelt lengths on Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster are different. I did notice this weekend sometimes I'd have almost no space between the apex and red strap (and still let ride) and almost up to 2 1/2 inches. I don't gain or lose a few pounds in a matter of hours. So yes, the seatbelts lengths are different. And I think the crew has noticed, because they let people ride (like me and others) that have no space at all.

Not to mention the new belts at the begining of the year haven't had a chance to stretch out yet, so they're a little shorter in that reguards.

I think the seatbelts are different in different seats. The test seat was not a problem for me, as I am "puffy", to say the least. But, luckily, it now says RIGHT ON THE TEST SEAT that it is only 1/2 inch of slack that is required to ride. I barely made that on MF, but had no trouble on TTD.

BTW, I thought ride hosts aren't allowed to assist you in buckling it. I thought you had to do it, as the test seats say (You must be able to fasten your own seat belt). When I rode MF, the host checking seats helped me fasten mine, but the host on the other side wouldn't budge with my brother, who also barely fit.

Just an observation.

Still love it as a guest

It may depend on WHY you can't get the belt fastened.

If you can't get it fastened because it isn't long enough to reach, you get no help.

If you can't get it fastened because you can't get the two ends of the buckle to line up because you can't see what you are doing, you might be eligible for some assistance.

I don't know if that's official or not, but sometimes it seems to work out that way.

Luckily you always have this really cute girl beside you on every ride to ease the pain of having a short seatbelt ;)

I don't know which ones are longer and which ones are shorter, but I can vouch that the test seat does not match at least two of the seats on the ride.

After pulling almost a full inch of slack on the test seat, my wife could not even get the belt fastened on two attempts to ride. The seats she tried were 5-1 right on the yellow train, and 2nd row from the very back right on the red train.

This was on June 2nd. Things could be changed at any time, but that was the fact at the time.

^ But, I am still very proud of her. Last year at Coastermania, the only coasters she could fit were ID, CCMR and Halfasster Transport. This year, MF was the only thing shoe couldn't fit, and I'm sure there were places she WOULD fit, if we only knew where they were.

And she's not done losing yet. That gives us something to shoot for.

Ah so they lied... Hmm...

I had a similar experince fbama73 on my may 15th visit. I fit the test seat but when I went to the train I go kicked both times.. A suggestion for you.. The next time you go and that happens go to park operations on the day of your visit and explain the situation in detail they will work with you in order to find a seat that fits...

About lying to me they called me back after my visit and said that they had shortened the test seat guess not ......

That would be pretty cool of them if they did that. unfortunately, this was during ERT at coastermania, so I'm betting guest relations was closed with the rest of the park.

I had a similar incident happen to me the weekend of May 13. My wife and I were there Thursday to Monday of that weekend (4 of the rainiest days I have ever seen at CP) staying at Lighthouse Point to celebrate our anniversary. We were at the park on Thursday night and went to ride Millie. I tried the test seat and was able to fasten the belt and pull the required 1/2 in. of slack. When we got on the ride I clicked my belt together and was trying to pull the 1/2 in. when the ride-op came by and lowered the lap bar WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING MY BELT! I was all the way extended right up to the red extra piece that is sewn to the last 3-4 inches of the belt. In other words there was no 1/2 in. slack, hell there was no slack at all! I could have pulled the 1/2 in. but the ride-op never gave me a chance. I commented to my wife as we ascended up the first hill that they didn't even check for the 1/2 in. slack and that maybe they are not as strict about it this year. COOL! Don't have to worry about it as much this season! Boy was I wrong!!

Two days later on Saturday we went back to Millie for yet another ride. Since I had already tried the test seat 2 days prior I did not see a need to do it again. We waited about 30 minutes or so to get on and after sitting down in the seat (6-1 or 7-1 can't exactly remember) got the belt fastened and was trying to pull the 1/2 in. I got to about 1/4 in. and was not able to pull anymore because my shirt got caught in the belt. 3 ride-ops were surrounding me at this point as I was eagerly trying to get my shirt unstuck from the belt. I was able to pull somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 in. I mean I was sooooo damn close to 1/2 in. but they would not let me go and I got kicked off. By this point I was not only embarassed because everbody is going to assume that I was too fat to fit when in reality my shirt being caught was the reason I couln't pull the required slack, but I was also mad at the blatant lack of consistancy. Thursday night they could care less about the belt, yet then on Saturday they kicked me off because of a few millimeters. OY GAVAY!!!

I know that this STUPID 1/2 in. rule is not CP's it is Intamin's and CP must obey what guidelines the manufacturer implements. But c'mon people is 1/2 in. going to save your life if there really was an accident.

"Whew that 1/2 in. really saved my life! I don't know what would have happened to me if my belt was only pulled 1/4 in. I might have been killed!! Thank God for Intamin's 1/2 in. rule!

Not only that but isn't the seat belt just more of a guideline? It's the lap bar that actually holds you in the seat. If your body is such that you are top heavy and potentially could topple out of the seat it's not going to matter if the belt was pulled 1/4 in. or 1/2 in.!!! Hell you could pull it 2 in. and it's still not going to hold you in!!!

It's just Intamin's way of looking like they're doing something and making things "safer" stemming from accidents that have happened in the last few years. They are not making things safer, they are just making it so you have to look like Kate Moss in order to ride with the notion that 1/2 in. slack in the belt is "safer".

It really boggles the mind how incredibly absurd these Intamin rules are as they pull the wool over our eyes and feed us more lines about these seat belt rules being implemented in the name of "safety".

It's all a bunch of BS to me. They really must think we are stupid!!!

CoasterCouple I agree, the lack of consistancy is the real problem.
