The school schedule in and around Sandusky has no affect on Cedar Point. The question should really be, when, in general, are schools in the Midwest back in session.
In this situation, the operating schedule is your friend. You'll notice the operating hours cut back to 8pm for many days in late August. That's a good sign for those who want to avoid crowds.
No one can predict the future, but Thursday is still within what is considered peak season. The park won't be empty, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just follow the common sense approach to Cedar Point: getting there before the park opens, starting with Millennium Force, going to the back of the park and working your way forward are all easy ways to outsmart whatever crowd might be there.

^Ben and I are on the same page here.
A law was put in place in the entire state of Michigan that all schools start after Labor Day. At least for the public schools.

Yes the there is a Michigan law that says all public school district have to starts school after labor day. This does not affect University becuase my borther starts college the 28th. Im not sure if it applies to private schools.

Really, all in the state? Interesting. My district (Walled Lake Consolidated) had the teachers vote two years ago whether to move the first day from late August to after Labor Day and lengthen the school days by around 12/14 minutes to make up for it. I didn't know that there was a law that actually required this
And, yes, universities aren't affected. Kettering University, Flint, MI, former GMI, is year-round, going back and forth between school and co-op work terms. They started the year on July 6th. How do I know this? Simple. My brother, Ben (haha), goes there. Good engineering school from what I've heard.
