Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
WHAT! No diving in 2008!!! or 2009!!!!
Bolts driven thru the glass = no shows ever.
Aquatic Stadium is dead forever...1980 baby!!

It will either be torn down in 2009 or it could be used for the divers next season.

Rather than speculate about it's future, I'll remininsceabout the good times I had with my family at Oceana. It was a lot of fun watching the dolphin stunts at thisclosest thing to Sea World venue. The aquariums weregreat to view, especially on hot summer days to getout of the sun for a while. Oceana was always atradition for my family after eating a meal, to then gowatch one of these spectacular shows.

They are going to take down the old stadium and create an ice rink for the Snoopy show that is currently housed in the IMAX theater. It will fit in well with the new children's area they are installing just next door. They will then convert the theater back to showing IMAX films, thus re-filling a void in family style entertainment.
How do I know? I don't, but I can play the guessing game as well as anyone.
That did sound very official.
I too was rather young the last time I seen the dolphins. Like toddler young or so. It looks big but I can't see anything more then a thrill ride being put there. A topple tower would fit nicely and with it being on the beach, the reactions from the GP would be hysterical. "Is it supposed to move like that?! Oh my goodness!!"
and with bolts thru the glass its either going or gone.

Interesting observation. Makes me wonder if the park would ever consider enclosing the stadium, then converting the former dolphin tank/diver pool into a basement (actually ground level storage area).

How are they the same?
A giant frisbee (maXair) swings like a pendulum with the pivot point at the top and the gondola spinning. It also only swings in one plane.
A topple tower raises the gondola to the top and pivots at the base. It pivots in multiple planes, not just one.
They are completely different sensations.

Doubtful.

No it doesn't.
That stadium could be used for any kind of show that does not require a giant dive tank. Just because it was a venue for swimming does not mean it HAS to be used solely for swimming. Just look at the Goodtime Theater, did anyone ever foresee it becoming an ice rink back when it housed an IMAX?
The Aquatic Stadium is a good sized venue to not try and use again.
I recall that in another thread it was mentioned that what looks like "bolts through the glass" is actually typical off-season storage. It just never came down for the 2007 season. No one ever suggests that maybe they couldn't get enough divers? Or maybe the show director or several divers backed out just before the season began?

The dive show was contracted out to a third party (as is the ice show). They don't produce that themselves.
