Applause Award

Coasterbuzz.com reports that Hershey Park received the Applause Award for Excellence. Does this mean no more Best Amusement Park in the World! on our Cedar Point fun guides???? No, I believe they don't give the award to the same park 2 years in a row.

Guess we'll just have to wait until next year, darn!!! (sarcasm)

The Applause Award, which CP had a few years ago, and the Golden Ticket award, which we have recived the last few years are totally differant awards, you will still see the Best Amusement Park award stuff all over CP again next season

They will give the Applause Award to the same park twice in a row, because Cedar Point had it both in 1997 and 1998, while I was working there. We had to wear the pins!

CrystalKat we actually won the award I think for the work in the summer of 96, recived the award and pins in 1997. We never had them in 98. The award is givin every other year.

Hmmm... You could be right. I know we had it two years running, but quite likely that was because it was awarded the previous year and we were promoting the recognition. Makes sense!
