Anyone live near sandusky or CP?

This is my first post, and I have been reading for awhile, so please dont be too critical. I was just wondering why anyone who live close enough to sandusky doesnt just go to city hall or something and find out what permits CP has been given in the past few years to help decide what this rise is, to my knowledge this is all public record, and they should also have sketches of rides. Also I believe you can get copies of the permits or sketches for a small fee, not more then a few bucks. So because of this, why doesnt someone near there just go do this, and then tell us what is going on, or post the sketches online somewhere and give us a link.

In my opinion, Cedar Point could have had those documents sealed. With the pull CP would have in Sandusky I would find that highly probable. Without CP Sandusky wouldn't even be a dot on the map. Sandusky pulls huge revenues from CP during the summer months, enough to really make Sandusky a thriving city.
The Sandusky newspaper had an article about 7 years ago explaining that Cedar Point had filed an application to the EPA because they wanted to alter the lagoons. Even though the lagoons were dredged by Boeklinger, they were considered to be a natural habitat at the time of application. In this article there was a plan to do 5 major projects in less than 10 years, but had not released any great detail to the public. These projects are as follows: Mantis, Power Tower, Camp Snoopy, Millennium Force, and presumably the "Mystery Attraction." I am not sure if the City or the EPA would release that kind of information until after the fact, so this new coaster would be very difficult to get info on right now.
Yeah, they might have ahd it sealed, but you never know until you try, plus i was thinking more along the heights too, so if someone could try, we could figure this out.

If someone lives close enough it's always worth a try.
Yes, always worth a shot... There might be some stuff online hidden between the lines at various websites (such as EPA, Ohio Div. of Natural Resources, etc...). Give that a shot.
If anyone cares to look through them all, you can get the Sandusky city commission meeting minutes at:

http://www.ci.sandusky.oh.us/

Click on "City Commission" and then "Meeting Agenda and Minutes". I found some reference to CP's use of some mainland space they own for building a warehouse, nothing else. Spent about 2 minutes on it.

CP fan since 68.

Thanks for that info, Harley. I guess I should have thought about that since I am studying to be an Urban Planner, and have some knowledge of municipal websites... Doh!!
Cooperative Agreement between the City of Sandusky and the Ohio Water Development Authority for the construction, maintenance and operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade and Expansion Project in an amount of $15,600,000.00. that's a lot of money!
Once again Cedar Point made major investments in the park with a new “Johnny Rockets” restaurant and other developments. Their largest project for the new season is the new roller coaster, “Wicked Twister”, but only the foundation requires a building permit so most of that cost is not figured into the $36 million in building permits.

found this too to show that they will announce it soon just like wt

Heck yeah!! Boku bucks...

John: You can't "seal" anything. It's all public record. There would be no need for zoning boards and building departments if the information they collect and permits they issue weren't public. Sunshine laws, you know?
