Anyone have a weird favorite ride?

Yes, Tilt-A-Whirl is in Camp Snoopy. My teen and almost teen boys and I frequent it regularly.

I have to say I like Lake Erie Eagles even though the capacity stinks. Also, I like Witches Wheel!

I enjoy Windseeker more than I probably should. I, especially, try to never miss out on a night ride. I absolutely love being that high up, overlooking a lit up park, with a nice, cool Lake Erie breeze to shake off the heat from a warm day. It's just so serene and peaceful.

I will confirm that my favorite water ride is Shoot the Rapids! My favorite Steel coaster is Millennium Force!

I have a weird favorite ride, long gone from the park: the Giant Slide which used to be located behind Pagoda Gift Shop. It was just a, well, giant slide but no trip to the park was complete without a ride.

I can still smell that scratchy burlap and hot fiberglass.

Yep!

I guess what makes it weird to me now is: in a world where we have 400 foot tall swing rides and 300 foot roller coasters, how could a 40 foot tall (?) slide be exciting?

I remember Sky Slide, used to be right next to the original miniature golf course. :)

Four Big Guys, One Raft- Zoom Flume in Soak City

Before they upgraded the rafts, when the weight limit was only 800lbs,
the attendant never checked for weight.

We'd put four big guys on it, easily the scariest ride in the entire park.

I always thought Chaos was really fun and that it was a shame that it was removed.

Disaster Transport was my favorite... Until I rode a second ride in the park. Hey, it's the one that made me realize my fear of coasters was irrational. :)

I'm glad to know I am not the only adult who treks into Kiddie Land to ride the Tilt-a-Whirl. I also loved Chaos. And personally, although I love my giant coasters, I don't understand why the Giant Slide was ever removed - it was a ride that could be enjoyed by all ages together!

Did you ever look at it from the underside? If you had you would know.
Slides like that are usually the number one accident ride at the park or fairgrounds. A ride where all ages could get friction burns together.

What took its place was better for families.

^ Your story of it's last days (when I spoke with you on the phone one night) was one of my all time favorites. I was laughing so hard I almost pee'd myself.

My weird favorite ride is Woodstock Express. Probably from the memories I have on it. That was my first Roller Coaster I ever rode. I was 3 years old. I still love it.

I was always scared of the Giant Slide. I was afraid I was going to lose control and go down the wrong way or something. I only rode it a couple of times, I still won't get on one if I come across it, my husband has with the boys.

Lake Erie Eagles - I'm not sure why I enjoy flying scooters, but I always get excited seeing them. The whole family loves going together. Giggles all around! (And, for whatever it's worth, Cedar Fair's use of ornamental grass for the landscaping around Lakeside Gliders at Michigan Adventure is the best I've seen. Really beautiful watching the grass sway in the sails' wind. They should incorporate this for all of their flying scooters. The cement paddock at Cedar Point enclosed only by shrubs and fence is a wasted opportunity, in my opinion)

Well my new favorite weird ride is Rougarou. I know some people like it, some people don't, but I like it just the way it is! It has more speed and more air intensity than when it was Mantis. That's just my opinion.

I agree Shawn. Rougarou's first drop and loop make it fantastic in my book. Tilt-A-Whirl? I can't believe in the 14 years I've visited the park that I've been oblivious to its existence. Shame on me. Growing up my home park was Seabreeze, they have one and it was always a favorite!

In fact if anyone visits Rochester in the summer their log flume and Jack Rabbit are more than enough reason to check the place out.
