When you all were kids, did you all want to be the CEO of CP, like I did and somewhat still want too? What a fun job that makes great money.
Cedar Point doesn't have a CEO, only a general manager.

^I thought DK was President and "CEO". Or am I wrong?
And to answer the Q. I would rather be in plan and design or Marketing.
Let's Get Weird.
Dick Kinzel is the President & CEO of Cedar Fair. John Hildebrant is Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point.
I dreamt of being a roller coaster designer. I just graduated college in May as a mechanical engineer... but that's years down the road if ever. But being the GM of CP wouldn't be all that bad either ;)

I wouldn't mind it, I have always wanted to. But then I think.. wow if only I was president of... Dubailand. That is, after I get one of those islands in.. The World :)

While working at an amusement park can be fun, lets not forget that the amusement industry is big business with all the strategic planning, decision making and stress that go along with it. Its not like the CEO or General Manager is out riding rides all day at work. They are in the customer service business and we are their customers. With the present economy, flat attendance, 5 year low stock prices, and tough decisions like closing GL, I would guess its not all fun and games at Cedar Fair these days.
Monty Jasper used to be Cedar Point's Director of Maintenance and Construction. He is now Cedar Fair's Corporate Vice President for Engineering and Safety.
^I thought he studied Bussiness and Marketing. I know this is probably wrong but didnt he go to Bolling Green State University?

I'm not sure if you realize what a job as CEO of Cedar Fair entails.

I am still a kid, some would say. :)
Nonetheless, I think the job of CP GM or CF CEO would be kinda neat. Obviously the work would be just that, work. But hey, at least you get to deal with amusement parks when you have all that work on your desk... If that makes any sense.
^Makes sense to me. Some people have paperwork about pipes or other things people sell but people at CP/CF get paperwork about CP/CF. Sounds more fun than pipes.

^ - yeah, because budget sheets for a department that runs roller coasters are so much more fun than the budgets for a software department. The paperwork is all the same regardless of which company its for.

I think the earlier point about how Dick Kinzel has gone from one of the most beloved figures in the industry to one of the most questioned is reason enough not to want the job. A lot of people feel they paid too much for the Paramount Parks, they summarily dismissed the people who made those parks successful, they tried to apply the "Cedar Fair way" and in some cases failed, and the unit price sucks right now, losing a third of its value in six months.

I wouldn't say those would be reasons to not want the job. I'm a business administration major, and I wouldn't pass up on the job just because one person in that position stayed on too long and made some decisions that negatively affected the company. Personally, I would jump at the chance of turning a company around. I see no reason to consider the current CEOs actions and results as reasons to not want the position, and that goes for any company in any industry.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
