Jeff, for someone with your resume it surprises me that you don't seem to understand that good moderation != closing down posts that stray off-topic (while they're getting interesting) || censoring links to videos that serve to hype the new ride and draw more traffic through your site.
If CP asked you to take them down that's one thing, but doing so on your own leads me to believe that you're making the assumption that although this is essentially free advertising for CP that only serves to spur more interest in TTD, CP would rather have it taken down because the filmmakers WALKED onto an unguarded (hmmmm) closed parking lot (possibly since the season has obviously not yet started). I'm certain you remember the pictures taken from outside the fence looking in at the footers that were floating about last season. They were not take down because...? Your logic assumes that CP wants to lash back out at it's fan's for showing enthusiasm for TTD, which as an employee strikes me as absolutely absurd...
...But maybe that's just me. I'm simply requesting that you re-think the way you guys moderate as not to quell interesting conversation. Playing it too safe never yields truly interesting results. As KMFDM would say, "Walk the Line."

When you get your own forum like Jeff has, get them to advertise on it, and earn the respect of the park... then and only then you can question Jeff and us mods and ask yourself if you'd do the same? I suspect you would!

Get who to advertise on it, Cedar Point? This site IS one big advertisement for Cedar Point. Where are these advertisements? How is this different from the other couple of CP fansites?

Which I already have as they actually pay me and trust me enough to be responsible for supervising the food units around TTD on it's opening season and actually having a direct impact on the CP operation, as opposed to operating a fansite that works for free. This is all moot since Cedar Point also goes out of it's way for it's fans and places guest service as priority #1, so having respect from the park is a given for ANY fan, and thus not something to be impressed by.

No I wouldn't, as I would understand that videos such as that would be found interesting for everyone on the forums to see and also knowing that if CP requested I take the vids down I would do so. If I was in any turmoil about the situation I would talk with someone at CP.
I love you guys and I love the site, really I do, but you really COULD take the censorship down a few notches and settle this by simply EMailing CP instead of implying to your readers that you think that they're wrong and immoral. I'm sure CP would allow the videos as the fans would be interested in them.
