Any chance we're ALL wrong?

Why does everyone assume the blast side has the red/white track combo? The fins coming out of the only red side could be used as the blast side, just look at Xcelerator. Looking at the web cam, I've noticed they have done nothing to the red & white side at the bottom of the tower. Could this be because CP is NOT just planning a blast up, tophat and brake run. Maybe, just maybe, some turns, zero gravity humps and other elements making it a roller coaster and not just a thrill ride like WT.

I know you're all gonna reply that WT is a roller coaster as defined by official terms but I don't agree. It's seems more like a thrill ride (and a great one at that) to me and not a roller coaster.

Any thoughts?

Have you ever seen video of Xcelerator launching? If not, I suggest it. The fins drop just before the launch, and then sequentially raise back up as the train passes. It's pretty cool to watch, actually. Anyway, the copper fins on the red side are fixed to the track...they can't drop, so they are for the brakes, just like the ones on Xcelerator.

Also, the red and white track is there is accentuate the fastest part of the ride--the launch. Trust us, everything has been covered.

Extra turns and other elements? Not a chance...I'll tell you why.

The faster you go, the wider the turn has to be. That's why MF has overbanked turns--to slow the train down enough to make the turns a little narrower than they would otherwise have to be. Even with those elements designed in, it runs all over the park.

You'd need an even wider turn radius with this ride--unless, of course, your turn is executed after climbing 400+ feet in the air. Just pulling off the first turn is hard enough.

I know, I know. It's all been said before. Anyway, there ya go.

Thanks guys, I understand. And thanks also for not being too nasty. Just waiting for the announcement to see if it will be open by May so I can book a room at the tower suites.

It looks to me like they're leaving an opening for the trucks, cranes and other machinery to get in and out of the site at the bottom of the launch side.
red/white is launch. if that is not obvious by now, one of two things could be occurring. 1.) you are feeling the affects of hunger: eat a snickers 2.) you are blind

=w=

I would say there is an extremely good chance this ride will be open on opening day. They are darned good about that.

I still wish the brakes would slow the train down to a cral but instead put an over back at the end for the turn around into the station. And then more brakes. The train wouldnt be going as fast after the brakes and would be easy to put a small overbank in. So what if that would be like having trims, Its better than no overbank at all and just brakes all the way to the end.
