VertiGo Rides - 82 Farewell my good friend..
Yeah that was a pretty good show. Of course me being a drummer I love all drum shows like that. Oh well, I only watched it once, it really isn't much of a loss for me.

VertiGo Rides - 82 Farewell my good friend..
Heat of the Beat would have been a casuality last year before it even started had the contracts for the performers not been issued. The Park was lookiing for some cut backs where possible.
It is sad to see the DoWop Group being cut and the other shows lost. But, CP has been and will continue to be a RIDE park...If cuts have to be made, LE seems to be one of the first places hit.(right or wrong:(). Heck I remember when there were TWO full casts in the Centennial Theatre and they performed something like 12/14 shows a day during the peak season.
Anyone else remember the Amazement Park Revue which was an OFF season group which performed arouind the region bringing a little bit of CP warmth to meetings during the off season. Not to mention, the Hobo Band, and the Beach Band...
I hope the park will not completely eliminate the LE from the park. As has been demonstrated time and time again, CP LE is AWARD winning. Major props out to Marge C. and the whole LE department for what they do on such a small budget.
Hopefully SOMEDAY, that LE budget will actually GROW.....
The way that park cuts, eliminates, and cancels projects, you'd think they were losing money. I don't know the first thing about finances, but I know I don't like to see these things disappear.

Tim,
I remember the Amazement Park Revue, saw the show at the Wooly Bear Festival one year, and at the Cleveland Ski Fair a couple years later. The live E at CP does serve a great function in that it balances out the thrill rides and broadens the appeal of the park to more people. It's what helps make CP a family park. I hope CP realizes that and keeps the variety of live entertainment they have always enjoyed.
