If they really want to claim something else, Millennium Force is the steepest coaster with lap bar restraints!
(not counting that oversized FREEFALL out west)
Yeah, back in the fall of '99 I sent in a business-typed letter requesting any info on MF. One of the things CP sent me was a little card with the layout. On the back was a picture of the old logo and it also said there were 11 records. I thought that it might be the first and only park with 2 roller coasters over 200 feet tall.
ok thats cool

let me off here!!!! :) hey i finnally learned how to do it
The 11th record is "most world records broken by a single roller coaster".

CP fan since 68.
Geeze, $31? Maybe I should auction off my shirt.
BTW, #11 as printed on the shirt is
"First amusement park to have 2 coasters over 200 feet".
What does BTW stand for? Thanx

SWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT! (In Cartman's voice) I was right!
BTW means By The Way - don't worry, I don't even know what all of the internet acronyms mean.

Actually if you think about it that 11th record couldn't be used. With SFMM opening thier new Hyper last month they were the first park to have two coastes over 200ft with Superman the Escape and Goliath.
Also the other record with the banked turns really should't fly becuase I think that it is SFNE or SFMW I forgot which one is building another Superman Hyper and they have the "banked turns," but they are calling them "inversions."

....Thats only if you count S:TE as a coaster.

The only reason I count it as a coaster is that it is basically a reverse shuttle loop without the loop. It took me a long time to accept that. When you think about it that means Intamin first generation free falls should count as well.

Along the lines of this thinking:
Does this mean that MF is really CP's 15th coaster? Were we ignoring Demon Drop all along?
-------------
Now that is Restaurant-Quality Lemonade!
I called S:TE a coaster until I rode it. Heck, it even looks like Demon Drop. Not to start this debate again, but I can't call it a coaster. And Viper isn't 200 ft. I think CP can claim the 11th record, even though it gets kinda watered down after a while. I mean, what's next? Who has the most blue coasters or the longest lines?
And on a side note: If they really wanted S:TE to be an incredible ride, they should turn the cars around and run them up the tower backwards. Could you imagine looking down 400 ft? I think it would give the thing new life. The way it is now, I don't think it's worth the wait.
Hey S.B.Railway,
I was thinking that EXACT same thing about S:TE. If the cars went backwards, you'd get an awesome view looking down. The only thing I thought of that would make that not work is the initial acceleration. You know how much you get nailed to the seat when that puppy takes off going forward. Think about what those's Gs would do without something like a seat backing to stop you. Sounds painful, don't it? :)
