Another element originally planned for Raptor?

I was looking at pictures of Raptor, and I noticed how long the straight-away is after the corkscrew and past the loop. This is evident in this picture:

I've also noticed this while on the ride. Do you guys think that there was originally another element planned for this section of track like a camel back, or heart-line twist? Or do you think this is just supposed to be a "breath" area for riders to regain their orientation before the finale?

It's a victim of the space it was designed for, if you ask me. The ride overall has a very funny footprint that covers areas that include the former Millrace, part of the Turnpike Cars and Calypso (which used to be on the midway next to Silver Dollar). If they put any element there it might drag enough energy off to make the finale rather dull compared to what it is now.

Personally I think that a heart-line roll would have been great, although, that would be 3 inversions consecutively (the 2 corkscrews before and after the heartline) and that might have just been too intense for an already intense ride.
Wouldn't it be great if there was such a thing as "trick-track" for inverted coasters and it was right there in that straight-away?  (heck, there may even be such a thing as trick-track for inverts..I don't know)

If only I had a nickel for every minute I've daydreamed about Cedar Point. :)
I haven't played RCT for a long time, but when I used to play a lot I would always put trick track on my inverted coasters.  I enjoyed watching the cars make that quick swing back and fourth.
That would have been a cool addition...one that doesn't dull the finale or is too disorienting, but one that creates a cool affect.

It has seemed obvious to me since the ride opened that the straightaway is there because they needed to go over the walkway that is located directly underneath that part of track.  I'm sure it's also been noticed that the exit out of the first loop is also positioned over the walkway and is about 20-30ft higher than the bottom of the first drop.  I always thought the ride would be a No. 1 coaster if after that first corkscrew the ride would dive down under the walkway only to emerge out into the second corkscrew....too bad CP's not a good place for underground tunnels.... :(

I also just noticed that the return path mentioned also has to go over the bottom of the first drop.....basically, every ride that's not built in a corn field has plenty of constraints that have to be taken into consideration when the ride is being designed...that walkway over to the Blue Streak was an obvious constraint.....OK, I'll shut-up now...
