Announcement

When Cedar Point does announce #16 how and where will they do it? I dont know how they announced WT last year but I beleive it will be similar to the WT announcement? Also, has there been any action in the construction that I have missed because I havent seen any movement at all in the last couple days at all.
I just want to know if the people "in the know" will give us a heads up on the day that they will announce it.

people "in the know" don't talk.

"If we go any faster, she'll blow apart for sure!"

Perhaps, but they give out hints as if there was no tomorrow. :)

Besides, telling people of the announcement date can only help because it spreads the word. If they were actually telling the stats, then that would be bad.

There will likely be a press kit sent the day before, and perhaps an alert several days prior if they intend to broadcast an animation by satellite (so the TV stations can grab it). I can almost assure you that within minutes of it being official, it'll be all over the Internet.

There is probaly going to be a lot of people who will take the announcement and twist it around somewhat and post that too.
The announcement is on monday January 6th.
I predict that the announcement will not be January 6th.

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

When you say its going to be broadcast by sattelite...will people like say in NYC be able to see it :)

If you're good with a dish and receiver you could probably get it on C or Ku band if you found what satllite and transponder it was on. If they uplink it digitally, that's a different story.
Hee hee hee hee....now you got every dork with DirectTV all psyched up. You can almost be sure it's C-Band (as Ku is susceptible to weather) and you're gonna need an 8-10 foot solid dish to pick up good signal from those weak ol' birds. Of course, you could be off a fraction of a degree (especially if you're peaked for a certain bird you use all the time) and your signal would still suck.

Just keep your hair on your scalp wait for your local news.

(who once coordinated a signal relocation on 120 fixed dishes from the failing G1 to S3)

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

I'm confused, So what channel would i have to tune to...to get to see this. I'm kind of new to this Dish stuff, C-Band?

Since i live in NYC, i doubt it would be on the news here.

'Playa is right... you more than likely don't have the equipment to receive the signal.

I wonder when they will put 2 trains on the Boomerang...

If you don't have a 8-10 foot dish, you're not getting the signal. Who knows if they'll broadcast it on the KU or CBand.

I'm sure that we all can wait the extra ten minutes that it takes the info to get on this site. You can't ride until May anyway, so stop worrying.

If it is on C/Ku-band, I might be able to use my dad's dish to pull it, unless they "require a subscription" that's only handed out to media companies, but I doubt that they'll do that. I forget how big his dish is... I keep thinking 14', but maybe 12'? Anyway, every year I go out and help him realign it from the winter freeze/thaw that causes it to shift, so it should be pretty much on track at the moment. Freezing doesn't cause it to move, it's the wet spring.

If they do broadcast it on satellite, and you find out the channel information, please shoot me an email (on profile), as the following formula (Christmas + work at electronics retailer = NO LIFE right now!) prevents me from checking this site on a regular basis. I'll need the heads-up to ensure the satellite's programmed and can properly be received. With so many power outages where my dad lives, he usually only reprograms the "important" satellites, and the only time they're all programmed is when I do it at the spring realignment trip.

[Edit] I also need the heads-up in order to avoid being stuck at work while it's on. I can then run out there, record it on Mini-DV, and then come home to upload it for all to see. Or if someone else has it all set up, I'll download it from then. ;) Just let me know.

My uncle has a 14' inch dish.
I have several dishes at home...a few plates and saucers too.

If you'd rather walk 10 miles than drive anything but a Ford, you're a moron...but you're probably in shape.

I'v got an aerial on top of my roof, do you think I could pick it up with that (it gets some of the Cleveland stations)? ;)
