An On-Ride Photo...what do you think?

I don't that any other impulse has a place for onride photos. With that said, do you think CP will put one in for The Twister?

well, if it's motion sensored (are they?), it will take a LOT of pix...

Wouldn't be that hard to do take pictures every fifth time through, wouldn't be too hard.

If CP wants to find a way to make an extra buck off the customers, they WILL take thier pictures.  The camera would only need to have a sensor so that it only took a picutre when the train initally fired, and not on the subsequent passes.

Putting one on the launch run shouldn't be that hard. Every coaster since 89 has had one installed, even the stock, so I doubt they would stop here.
I think it would be pretty hard to put one on, but if they do than its just for the better.
Why would it be hard?

The speed: umm MF, Magnum are fast.  Plus the initial launch isn't even 72 mph I think.

Timing: Seriously, how easy is it for the camera to take the picture only on the launch?  Simple technology...

All those are motion sensored, this one cannot be.
Sure it can be.  Its just a matter of ignoring most of the signals.  Now if they want to be creative, set up the cameras such that the picture is taken right as the train reaches the apex of the front spike so you have the ground in the distant background.

I really should be working...

Ugh it can too be motion sensored take a pic every fifth time somethign goes by easy as that, it would be quite simple.

If Volcano has one on their launch we can have one on ours.

and it's just a matter of, how should I put this Brian?? Ahh yes, creative coding.

The computers for this ride keep track of the train with an accuracy that would probably surprise alot of people. It's just a matter of counting "pulses" and then activating the camera at a set point. Strobe shot just like all the others.

Very similar theory to getting a RPM reading off a motor by using a slotted disc and a LED and sensor on either side of the disc. Not hard at all...

The system could work the same as the camera system on Flight of Fear. When the launch is activated (IE: the ops each holding down their respective button), the photo triggers.
Ok, I hope they put one in now that I know they can.
YAY!

Wow, I'm really dissapointed! :(

That's pretty surprising considering CP's track record of making a buck wherever they can.  I know they make a ton of money on the other on-ride photos.  Maybe they think WT photos just wouldn't sell.  Perhaps they're right, but I'm not sure.

I also found it interesting that he said he said plans for painting rides were not finalized.  Hey Dan, maybe they will decide that Magnum deserves it more than Mantis! :)

that would be so awsome to find a way to put a set of cameras on the tip of the spiral and have it show the ground all the way down there!

Rock 'n Roller Coaster at Disney's MGM studios takes your picture right as you launch.
