For each time I rode Maverick, it seemed like the wait time on the sign was always almost double the actual wait time.
Another thing I just thought of, I take back what I said about digital signs. I don't think there should be any, I mean who all is really going to look at them besides us. Most people are willing to wait 2 hours for Raptor (unless, the line wouldn't have gotten this long in the first place, right?). And it's because they are there, Raptor is there, and they don't feel like walking to other rides at the time.
I don't think people will be standing near Maverick with a 1.5 hour wait, and then decide "oh let's go over to Millennium Force, its only a half hour wait". Say by the time they do get to MF, chances are it will be over an hour or two wait because, well anyone who did look at the sign saw a half hour, and went to MF.

Who will look at them? Anyone who dislikes waiting in lines..and I think that is a lot of people.
When I was at Disney it didn't have digital signs. I do imagine they are used by many people.
When WT is a walk-on ride, Skyhawk / Maxair is 15 minutes or less , people notice that stuff.
Distribution of the park guests is needed I think and these signs would move people towards the rides with less people.
Would I ride DT every trip? No, but if it was 15 minutes or less maybe.
