So I was looking at the company 3dBA and I saw a roller coaster design called Mountain Glider. And when I saw this I thought wouldn't it be cool if Cedar Point got a ride like this. They could really hype this up and it would be really run to soar over the other roller coasters and possibly parts of lake erie.
BTW if you don't know about this idea heres the link to the videohttp://www.3dba.be/?nid=5020

^Ha, kind of a cool looking ride. I also liked the looks of the skyrider for the same reason, it also looks a bit more thrilling because of the positioning. However, I doubt CP would ever get something like this right now, mainly because of the finances and such, but i wouldn't mind seeing it sometime in the future. Also, it would depend on how many riders they can push through that thing at a time. Considering its only one row of 4 per car, I'd guess its not great in that aspect, but I really dont know, I'm just guessing.
Do these rides exist anywhere yet? If you have information on them, please post it, I'd be interesting in learning about it!
Thats kind of cool. I would rather see a larger and more thrilling ride at CP but it would be a neat ride at a smaller park.

I doubt CP would ever get somthing like this just because of the low seating capacity.
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
Yeah theres one built. It opened this summer after a year and a half of delays.

Well if they have a problem with capacity and thats the only thing that would stop them and they really want one they could probably come up with a two row train or a faster moving elevator because right now that is pretty much a skyhawk capacity ride.
Edit: I just looked it up it is the same capacity as skyhawk when skyhawk has 2 arms running. *** Edited 10/9/2007 2:06:17 AM UTC by StrataCoasters***

With the problem that Cedar Point has with running out of room to build on, if they dont move the parking lot to the "main land", this would be a great coaster, dont seem to take up much land space.
Looks like a lot of fun, just need to bump up the capicity some.
(i'm kidding about running out of room and parking lot)
Looks great, thanks for the link!

Question: How do you explain the actions of millions of people who wait hours upon hours to be dropped down a hill?
Answer: You don't...
Its a good thing you said you were kidding about the running out of room, you were about to pick up a "stupid Bulldogs" comment.
The only issue I would see is capacity. And if you make the trains longer, what separates it from ID or Raptor? It does seem like a cool idea, if only because of how wide open the seats are.

They could come up with some sort of double-elevator system that would allow them to have one boarding while the other is lifting to increase the capacity. And I like that ride because it takes up virtually no space on the ground. The supports are incredibly minimal. I could see it as a possibility.

A very bad dark ride?
Actually, I think he was referring to a dark ride on the order of the Pirate Ride.

Yeah thats probably what he meant by dark ride. also if you look its a demon drop kind of elevator or in other words the trains wait just outside of the station to load on the elevator. The way that this would be different from maybe raptor or ID is that this would be a ride where you could soar high in the air above the other rides.

I would love one of these! They look really awesome. CP boy a dark ride is not DT. It is like a interactive ride where you spin around and do all this weird stuff. Like the Scooby Doo ride at KI. You shoot stuff and you get to interact. DT is a... its just an indoor coaster.
