'America Rocks!!' at the Red Garter Saloon

I had the pleasure to attend the 'preview' show at the Red Garter Saloon today of this years only live show (if you don't count kareoke as live) 'America Rocks'.

What can I say.. Live E has another award winner on thier hands this year.

Many old faces returning from last year (2 from Rock, Pop and Soul show and 4 from Country Hits Live) and even a returning member from Hot Country Nites from 2000 along with a few new faces.

The show is fantastic. Touching on everything from country to classic rock to just hard core american rock anthems.

The coutumes are, in my opinion, 10x better than last years (never was a big fan of them) and the audience participation is the best I've seen in a while.

The sleeper of the show this year? The return of Amy Jo from Hot Country Nites. If you remember her, she had the killer voice, well she's only gotten better with time. I don't know if she was performing somewhere else or was working with voice coaches but there are a few spots that she just steals the show with those pipes of hers.

Not going to list the songs or give that much detail about the show so you can go in and be a little surprised. I was..

If this is the first show to go live for Live E in 2002, I can't WAIT to see what's next. Looks like another IAAPA winning year for Cedar Point.

Hey Rob, who are the Rock Pop and Soul kids? I heard Lisa and Jason are back as far as Country but I really lack the patience to wait another week to find out myself. PS....you'd better at least visit me a couple of times now that I switched venues...I'll be so lonley at Centennial :(

Also Lindsey came back besides Jason and Lisa..

And ohh.. I'm sure you'll be seeing me sometime..

I highly recommend this show also. We caught the 1st public performance, at 1:00pm on Saturday. Great to see the returning performers. Taped part of it with digital camcorder. Not sure which one is Amy Jo... Is she the redhead with the hurt leg, or the other one, with the amazing smile and the longer brown hair? I taped her entire performance of "Cleveland Rocks", with the camera held tight on her, and following her through the whole song. Very cool. Be a cool bootleg if she ever becomes famous! :)
