America Rocks?

Hey all, my name is Eric, some of you might remember from last year, I was the keyboardist for Country Hits Live. Anyway, I have a different username now, because in my old age, I forgot it. Well, moving on...I was wondering if anyone has seen the new America Rocks show, with or without the HalloWeekends portion added in. I'm not trying to toot my own horn, nor am I trying to gain any praise, I'm just curious as to people's views on the show. I miss the old cast from CHL, it was a great band, a great show, but this show isn't too bad either. It's great to be back on stage playing. I missed CP, although there is so much drama, but hey, that's part of life I suppose!

Take Care,

Eric

It's a pretty good show. The girls in that show have some serious lungs, and the guitarist and sax player are beyond exceptional. The choice in music is a little less modern than I would prefer, but I understand the safety in going with stuff that most people have heard. Overall, another contender at IAAPA I'm sure.

A GREAT SHOW! Along with 'Heart of Rock N' Roll' earlier this season. All the musicians are very talented, and I hope they have shows like this next year, (and hopefully the year after, so I can hopefully have a good time drumming the night away)! :)

I thoroughly enjoyed America Rocks when I saw it last weekend. My only complaint is that the sax needed to be turned down. While a great player, he was drownding out the vocals.

As I was walking out, I mentioned to my friend, had I been 10 years younger, I could have worked a show like that one.

Kudos to the guys and the gals. It is a great show.

I stopped in last Sunday to check it out. Very entertaining, and the performers and musicians were all top notch, as usual. Excellent production as well. In the brochure, it said all the shows were basically done, glad this one was still going strong!
Very entertaining show! This was one of my favorites this year! America Rocks and Hooray for Hollywood The Sequel were AWESOME! Very well produced. I am glad that America Rocks is still going so that when I go to CP on closing weekend I can see it again!

Wise men say, a world without coasters is monotony.

America Rocks was a great show this year, especially in light of all of the personnel changes! Melissa was a fabulous addition mid-season! We enjoyed Brian's guitar playing at Lusty Lil's (sorry, I'll always call it that, no matter what CP renames it) so were happy to see him show up at Red Garter to finish out the year on bass (why don't you let him sing?) The vocals and musicianship were excellent across the board. CP really found some talented folks this year!

OK, I'll admit, I was upset when they nixed Josh's "Tear in my Beer"... It was my kids' favorite song! (that was well before you came back Eric, so you probably don't even know what I'm talking about...)

I like this year's Halloweekends show. The impersonations are great! (but my kids liked the "halloween" costumes better last year -- BTW, nice to see the newlyweds Jason & Lisa back in their Frankenstein garb walking the midway)

BTW, Country Hits Live was a fantastic show, very deserving of the award. Congrats, Eric! Nice to see you back this year.

P.S. Hope I got everyone's name right -- I'm terrible with those...

I've seen the show a couple of times, and think it's pretty outstanding. The short skirts only have a little to do with it ;), as the whole cast is very talented. I personally think this show is even better than the country show the last couple of years.

Oh yeah, and I'm infatuated with the girl who does the Madonna impression at the end. Not sure why, but I've always had a thing for chicks on stage.

I saw it back at the end of August. I thought it was a great show, and the performers were very talented. I also thought the song selection could have been better, but at least it was mostly classic rock.

Classic rock? What the hell, stuff that was popular when I was growing up is not classic rock. That stuff was 70's!

Did I mention I'm infatuated with the Madonna impersonator?

Jeff, anything from the 1980's down through the 1960's is "classic rock" (20 years or older). Of course, I guess you might call the 1960's stuff "ancient" rock now.

And if they played a lot more of what I hear my 16 year old son listen to, you'd be less likely to see me at the show. I can only take so much Tool before I hit the "off" button.

The 70's, as well as portions of the 80's and 90's, sucked for music. We're not doing well this decade either.

I think that alternative and metal has been doing quite well in recent years, but that might just be me...

Alternative to what? "Alternative" became mainstream at least five years ago.
