I'm just amazed how CP and Intamin knew exactly what to do and how to do it. It amazes me how they take a blueprint, steel and bolts and turn into a scream machine. The accurcy of where to put the supports is amazing...

With the technology today they can tell you exactly the latitude and longitude in relationship to the entire earth of any footer.

"Magnum is very good value!" -- A RCT Guest on Magnum
An example how fast technology has advanced, I'll quote from an article from the May 12, 1996 "Sunday" magazine (Plain Dealer):
"When a crane lifted the last piece of track [on MANTIS], a piece of paper would not fit between the joints. By way of contrast, there was a foot gap between the final two pieces of track on the MAGNUM XL-200."
It's been four years since then- MF probably went together easier than a K'nex set.

Now that is Restaurant-Quality Lemonade!
It just amazes me how they can build them so fast.

"Welcome back riders, DID YOU ENJOY YOUR FLIGHT?"
It is pretty incredible! Even if one footer is off by a few inches it could throw EVERYTHING out of wack(technically speaking).

I think you'd be surprised at how much error there might be with the less precisely manufactured support columns.

Anybody know if CP or Intamin (or ANYBODY for that matter) is doing a "start-to-finish" video of the construction ?
That would make a very interesting documentary to watch during those depressing "Park closed for the season" days....

I wouldn't be too suprised.. CP put out the "Raptor rules the sky!" Video which I have 3 copies (2 are worn out..sucks). I do have a quesiton that Dan should beable to answer... where exactly was the last piece of track for magnum when they foundout about the gap? and what did they do to correct it?
