am I too old for this ride?

Im 67 years old ,almost 68,am I too old for the dragster?Of course I mean my body,my mind is young enough. What is the opinion of those who have ridden this ride.I find the mean streak too rough, and the Mantis coused some problems, but Im good with the Raptor and the Mill. force.
I am 56 years old with various conditions and I ride it. In fact I love that ride. I guess if you don't have any heart conditions give it a try I think you will survive. You'll be suprised how smoth it is, and after the launch it is just like any other roller coaster.

Well, thats one positive, its a good start :)
The big problems are people with conditions such as back and neck injuries, heart problems including high blood pressure, or other serious conditions such as an aneurysm.

Your safest bet is to speak with your health care professional.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

Steel monsters, wow, aneurysm, that really is a serious condition.Of course you wouldnt catch me on a coaster if I had one of those. As far as speaking to a doctor,Im not sure they would know unless theyre coaster people themselves.Doctors either say SURE to anything or say NO WAY to everything. After I had some major surgery ,I asked my surgeon, half in jest, how soon I would be able to go on a coaster. He said,"oh, around 4 weeks or so".I actually waited about 4 months.
Allan, if you can ride Raptor and MF, then you will have no issues with TTD IMO. I am over 40 and have 5 rides on TTD to date. I cannot wait till next year - TTD is that good. I will say, I was VERY intimidated by TTD, but the launch is not that much forceful than what you experience on MF or Raptor IMO. MF is a great warm up for TTD, and I think you should experience the ride on your next visit to the point.

Tom,

What worries me mostly,is that vertical thing.90%up,and 90% straight down.Just how intense is that?I really want to try that dragster.

Are you too old for this ride? No. Last year I stood in line with a guy who was 80-something riding with his son who was 50-something.

If you ride it properly with your head against the head rest at all times, you will be fine. Remember, you experience more positive G's flopping down on a couch than on any coaster at Cedar Point.

The Matrix Revolutions

There was one guy in his 70's I believe who hit 100 rides this year. My brother actually got to chat with him for a little bit, seemed like a good guy.

Allan,

Do NOT worry - you like MF (right), and thats 80 degrees. The ride ROCKS - it is smooth, comfortable, and VERY secure (going up and down). I was terrified prior to my first launch and wedged into my seat. I was totally relaxed and thrilled by the time we were twisting on the up side (because the launch was just pure fun), and I had my hands up before I got to the tophat, where they remained for the rest of the ride. TTD has a great drop. Go and enjoy (you will thank me after).

Tom

Allan,

Being only a rookie in the medical field, I can offer limited advice, but here it goes. Dragster is a very intense ride and it should not be underestimated. At your age, I would be most concerned with rupturing an aneurysm. Do you know if you have any? If not, it's your call. If you smoke or have smoked for a long period of time, have a family history of aneurysms, or drink excessively, you are at greatest risk for rupturing an aneurysm. I think about 10% of the population has an undetected aneurysm, and certainly nobody has had one rupture on Dragster so far. So even so, your odds are pretty good. My advice would be to give it a try if you feel you are in good enough health. Have a great time!

Allan,

I have to agree with everyone else who has commented here. I can say from a ride operator's point of view that we saw people of all ages. In fact, a couple of our "marathon'ers" who would stop by and ride several times every day, were around your age, if not older. While everyone's health conditions can vary greatly, based simply on your age, you should definitely be able to ride Dragster.
