All Season Dining Plan Changes

Still under change, may stay, may not.

Policy change for All Season Platinum Dining Plans. The new plan is similar to gold pases/regular season passes at these parks as they only cover the deal during the regular season, and not during the Halloween season. This change is effective now, and encompasses passes bought even before the policy change.

Parks currently affected by the change:

• Canada’s Wonderland
• Carowinds
• Kings Dominion
• Worlds of Fun.

Well what's the point of advertising it as an "All Season" dining pass if they put seasonal black outs on it? Especially a period of about a month and a half worth of weekend only operation. I already purchased a 2016 dining pass, but if this policy goes chain wide I would probably rethink it for 2017.

I don't like that, but it makes me wonder if other Cedar Fair parks will follow with that policy. I was unaware that Canada's Wonderland operated differently during halloweekends than Cedar point and we traveled to Canada and were told our season passes were not valid for evening admission to the park for the Halloween events. I do not like that policy and I hope Cedar Point never goes that route. Only a couple parks run the Halloween event like that, but I find it quite strange that they empty the park and charge a separate admission for the evening events. It was our fault we didn't look into it, but I wouldn't be pleased if Cedar Point changed their meal plan after I purchased it for this upcoming season.

Well these parks have had separately gated Halloween events for some time now. For instance, the park will be open during the day (when you can use your season pass) and then close at 5:30p and then reopen at 7p for the Halloween event. You haven't been able to use your season pass for these events, so it's not unreasonable for them not to allow All Season Dining during these events when you didn't use your season pass for entry to the park.

If these separately charged events are the only meals that aren't included then it makes sense. I just hope Cedar Point doesn't start that type of business model for Halloweekends.

Seems like they are still figuring things out with these season dining plans. Before the 2015 season started, I remember Kings Island considering whether to have specific hour times for lunch and dinner when season dining plans could be used. They ended up not implementing it (for 2015 anyway).

Part of the problem appears to be dealing with demand. At Kings Island during Haunt, the line to get some food was often longer than the line for some coasters. I'm a little surprised Kings Island isn't on the list of parks implementing this change for next year.

I can tell you for sure that Worlds of Fun doesn't have a separate gate admission for Haunt. I believe Knotts and Canada's Wonderland are the only two that do separate gate admission.

^^ Kings Island doesn't have a separately gated Halloween event so I wouldn't expect a change there.

^ The statement WoF had posted on their site has been removed. But I do see one on Knott's website, which as you indicated, does have a separate event for Scary Farm.

Carowinds also has a separately gated Haunt event.

SCarowinds is different though because Gold and Platinum passholders are permitted to enter and don't have to buy a separate ticket.

The wording has since been removed, apparently it was a misprint. I believe otherwise especially given the temporary restrictions implimented last year that were changed during the off season. If it was, well, they need to better communicate what their online store terms are. Either way it's still a messy situation.

I will admit, I am glad to see this;

Cedar Point Midway Market: enjoy the buffet for a $5 upcharge (All Day Dining Plan) or an $8 upcharge (All Season Dining Plan).

Would rather do this option than any other as this includes the dessert and drink, right? To "upgrade" we do that opening weekend I assume (of those of us who already got our passes/plans for next year)?

Midway market upcharge was available in 2015. I only used it once. I felt the quality of the food has significantly gone down the past two seasons there.

The "upgrade" is more of an "upcharge" you pay the $8 each time you eat at Midway Market, it's not a season long "upgrade."

I just noticed that one more of the few edible items for the all season dining plan is gone. The burrito from Los Gatos. If the menu doesn't improve for '17 looks like I'll be back to eating food from home sitting on the tailgate of the Tundra.

The Burrito gone is really a deal killer for us.
It was the only item that wasn't a heart attack waiting to happen on the "menu".

We will go back to leaving the park to eat actual food in Sandusky. Not a big deal, and we like to discover new places anyway.

I thought the all season dining plan was valid at all cedar fair parks if you have a platinum pass but it looks like that is no longer true.

Where Can Platinum Passholders Use All Season Dining?

The All Season Dining Plan is valid at the park where you purchase the plan. If you purchase your All Season Dining Plan at Cedar Point, then you can enjoy two meals per day with a minimum of four hours between each meal every time you visit Cedar Point.

This is disappointing as our family was planning a 2 or 3 day visit to Kings Island this summer and I was hoping to use the dining plan.

I think that is a mistake. The all-season dining plan Platinum pass add on specifically says it's valid at any Cedar Fair Park. I used my all season dining in 2015 at 5 different parks.

Yeah, it appears as though the platinum pass dining plan can be used at any park, but the season pass plan can only be used at CP

The "All-season" drink bottle for $24.99, is that good at all Cedar Fair parks, just like the regular cup?
