Airbnb/short term rentals in Sandusky?

Hi! I am a reporter for the Toledo Blade, and I'm interested in Airbnb/HomeAway/Vrbo and other short-term rental services. I understand that in Sandusky there are a lot of people who are renting out their homes in this way. I would like to hear from people who have:

a) successfully rented their home on one of these services (how was the experience, would you do it again, what led you to do it, etc.)

b) rented a home of someone in the area (how was the experience, did you have any safety concerns)

c) people who live in the area (Sandusky, etc) but who do not approve of short-term rentals (people who are opposed to it, think it is disruptive, etc)

I usually stay at the Hampton Inn on 6100 Milan Rd in Sandusky. If that Hampton Inn is sold out, I will stay at the Hampton Inn just down the road at 11608 US RT 250 in Milan.
