I am surprised that the rides like The Sky Rides, The Giant Wheel, and The Windseeker are operating today. With the terrible and dangerous air quality, those rides pose an even greater risk to riders. This is because the riders are up higher for an extended period of time and not just a quick tall hill or two.
Assume that you are there, unless you checked the website for queue times. Are any of the workers wearing masks, since they will have extended exposure?
1) Millenium 2) Maverick 3) Vengeance 4) Raptor 5) Magnum
Here CoasterHawk, here is a video of them rushing to shut down Skyride the other day because of the winds.
They’re damned if Sky Ride is closed and damned if it’s open. Lose lose.
How would these rides differ from say MF?
I did hear from a couple of sources at the park yesterday that they shut Steel Vengeance down because of the air quality.
… yet they kept all the other rides open. So… not sure if that was the reason.
The extended length of time you are on The Sky Rides and The Giant Wheel and The Windseeker is more exposure at a higher altitude. With coasters, you are up that high for a shorter amount of time.

I was just thinking, the air is a lot more harmful at the back of the park at 205’ than it is near Magnum at 205’ ;)
If I had to choose between smoke in the air and muffleheads in the air...I'd take the smoke.

Didn't go yesterday, but today the outdoor shows were cancelled. They had a message up that it was due to the air.
Whatever this obsession is about Skyride, it's getting tired.
