Ads on coaster cars.

Several Six Flags parks have this now and of the pictures I can see they look really terrible. I don't like this trend at all. My question is will they shoy up at Cedar Point and other Cedar Fair parks. We all know how hard up for money the chain is now so it wouldn't totally shock me.

I would be shocked, as in someone used a defibrillation machine on me, if Cedar Fair ever practiced this type of advertisement.

I remember Indiana Beach used to have Coke™ and Diet Coke™ on Hooser Hurricane's cars a couple of years ago. So it's not just the big parks that do it.

...and Sprite™ on Cornball Express.

Personally, I appreciate the fact that amusement parks are one place you can go where every square inch of visible space isn't covered with the same advertising you see everywhere else. I guess that's also one of the things I don't appreciate about Shapiro's Six Flags.

^Shapiro is now gone and former Paramount Parks CEO is in...His name escapes me though. Also, if you think about it Tim, Six Flags is in FAR worse shape. So, it's having a harder time with money than Cedar Fair. I've always saw Cedar Fair as the most professional park chair around, so I don't really think we'll be seeing these advertisements anytime soon. However, if we do, I think it will be minor.

The wait time signs at Six Flags actually used to have that on them. The wait is 15 minutes from here sign said something about saving money with Geico in that same amount of time.

I also hope Cedar Fair doesn't get ads on their trains, they ads at Six Flags really make the coaster trains look horrible.

Revoman: Al Weber is now the Six Flags Interim CEO. My Shapiro comment was actually related to my comments in this thread over on CoasterBuzz. :)

Anyone remember the Nestea Plunge? It had an "ad" on the boat.

It had an ad in the name.

For me, it isn't so much an issue of ad vs. no ad, as how it is presented. Snake River Falls, for example, has had a Pepsi sponsorship since it was new; the Pepsi logo is integrated right into the ride logo. To me, that's at least somewhat classy, although it's a little more distracting since Pepsi changed their logo.

On the other hand, the same year that Snake River Falls opened was the year that Cedar Point changed over to Pepsi, and they put cheap plastic banners up at each coaster with a Pepsi logo, like you often see at street fairs and the like. To me, that's classless and ugly.

To the other extreme, I wonder if Cedar Point has considered getting custom packaging for the Aquafina bottles for the inevitable vending machine near Shoot The Rapids...sell the stuff as Crystal Rock. :)
