In looking over the prices for 2000, it just occurred to me that all the prices are even dollar amounts this year. In other words, a Funday ticket costs $38.00 instead of $37.95. Anyone care to speculate on the reason for this? Maybe it creates some efficiencies in collecting money or some other cash control function. I just find it interesting that CP is no longer using the old retailers trick of making people think $37.95 is really a better deal than $38.00.
Makes a lot of sense, really. They will not have to handle loose change at all. No reason to issue silver change to all gate cashiers, although they might issue some to one cashier, just in case.
As far as the "old retailer's trick", you're probably right. At this point, no one is going to quibble over 5 cents, and no one will be fooled either. :)
