Ad campaigns

I saw U-571 at the AMC-20 in Livonia, MI tonight (detroit suburb) and they showed an MF ad before the movie... I was a bit disappointed that it was the same stuff I've been seeing for months on the website but I guess it will get the attention of those who haven't heard about the coaster yet.
Probie, I saw that too! That add looked like a movie add on the website. I am not surprised. I also saw the same add at a screening of "the Green Mile" at Livonia Mall Cinemas.

That's the same piece that is on the Web, the 3:30 promo with the rendered POV. It's also available on this site (in stereo, of course)!

I just saw my first MF commercial on TV about 20 minutes ago. Just the same as the web ride. Not realistic at all. I was kinda dissapointed, but I know it will get better.
im in detroit and i have to say that six flags has been advertising on channel 7 BIG TIME...as for cedarpoint ,i have yet to see anything, ive been to the movies several times the last few weeks and have not even seen the ad that i thought they were goin to play.whats going on????
Today on the radio in Cleveland I heard an advertisement for Millenium Force
I just saw a Cedar Point Millenium Force commericial!!! On ABC news channel 5!!! I only saw the end, but it was ok.
I think I'm gonna keep my tv on channel 5 for awhile :) thanks for the news EHemdo09!

Will May 6th ever arrive?????
Hey Jeff I thought Cp was expecting a large crowd from all over to ride MF. A larger radius than normal! So I was thinking Cp was advertising outside in. Why? Well because word of mouth in Toledo, Cleveland, etc. I could be wrong!!!!

And Yes scooter I am!!!!!!!! Go Jesus!!!!!
I also got my Ohio Pass magazine today which came with an Ohio travel map. There wasn't a Cedar Point ad on it! They advertised on all the other ones I have seen but not this one! Oh well I guess it's not a big deal. There was a 2 page ad in the magazine. Call 1-800-BEST-FUN for a Cedar Point information packet. I did notice that PKI has major ads in the magazine. A couple full page ones. Also a note the commercial I saw was on ABC News channel 5 coming out of Cleveland. *** This post was edited by EHemdo09 on 5/1/2000. ***
Hey sorry for another post but I just saw another CP ad on ABC New Channel 5 at about 5:55.
If you notice, at the end of the new commercial it doesn't say "America's Roller Coast : Cedar Point", it says "The One and Only Cedar Point."
Any idea on if they are switching the slogan, or if this is a one-time deal?

Ryan
I saw the commercial at 8, on channel 5 (ABC) here in cleveland. It was really short and just said something like "get ready to break 10 world records" and showed animations like on the web site, then they said something bout pepsi and saving money and that was basically it. I suspect maybe on AAA preview day they'll film the real thing.

Whats life if you don't get to the point?
A merchandise supervisor (I know, not the best source) told me filming for the commercial was going to be on Wednesday.

Yeah the commericial is sort of short and kinda dumb but they'll probably be getting better ones as soon as te video is available. I just saw one at about 9:53 on Fox 8 coming out of Cleveland.

I think the TV spots are really well done. Nice graphic animation and clever use of the previously used film. Do keep in mind most people have never seen the 3:30 promo video.

I saw a commercial last night on the USA network. I also heard a radio advertisement last night, and when my alarm clock went off this morning that same advertisement was playing.

Well, I guess the ad folks hear me, because I saw the first CP commercial last night here in Pittsburgh! It was rather short (about 10 seconds) and mostly focused on Snoopy. They did show a brief (1 second) of MF going down the hill (POV)

The Dawn of the Millennium is upon us!!
Everyone, grab your season passes
and repent!!
OK, lets not go nuts here. Everybody that knows of CP knows MF is there. And you have that looping "wood" coaster down south. Now what you don't want, is to have media types riding one, then lumping the report in with the other. You want them to file their reports on SOB (and why do they callit a looping wood coaster if the loop is as much wood as a battleship? seems like farce to me even if the "track" on the loop is partially wood.) CP wants the glory all to itself, and despite what some of the PKI fans might think, I suspect it will be MF that really steals the thunder. SOB might be a big "wood" looper, but MF is simply the biggest fastest, and thats what will stick out the most.

They know what they are doing. If it gets fouled up, then we get to make fun of it.
