accessing Lighthouse Point

Do you have to be a guest of Lighthouse point to walk over and look at the lighthouse? We'll be staying at Sandcastle Suites and my dad likes lighthouses so I was wandering if we could walk over and look at the lighthosue

Yes you can, in fact, you can drive there if you don't want to walk.

I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74

Great! Thanks for the response

At one point, when CP was building Lighthouse Point, there was talk about opening the lighthouse building possibly as a gift shop. Too bad that never happened, I also like lighthouses and that would have been very cool.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

If you don't already know, get directions for the Marblhead Lighthouse (across the "bay" from Cedar Point). That is one of the lighthouses you can actually still climb. And, they have a decent museum on site.

Great view of the park over there too.

Every year I say that I am going to make it over to Marblehead. And every year comes and goes without that happening. I guess I will just have to settle for my view of it going up MeanStreak's lift hill.

It's worth the drive, in my opinion, particularly if you have a significant other with you. It is a very romantic spot.
