A small handicapped access problem

After going with my uncle in a wheelchair to CP, I have some comments on the handicap rider system. First of all, 4 people may ride in addition to the person who is handicap. So 5 people ride total, leaving most often an empty seat with the 5th person. We had 6 in our group, and every time the ops would not let all of us ride, while the 6th seat just went open!! Theres absolutely no point to this unless you are going to get a single rider the fill it. They should make the guest number an odd amount like 3 or 5 people. It really isnt that big of a deal, but it is just so pointless when you leave a seat empty with your group and theres a rider who could go on! Other than that the system is pretty good, the park was just verrryy crowded on wednesday!!

BTW, while in line for Magnum I saw Bill Spehn talking with someone next to the queue! Ive never seen him before and wanted to meet him and thank him but he walked away before I could. What is it that he is in charge of again??

You wanted to thank him but you have no idea what he is in charge of? Odd.

In any event he oversees Operations which includes rides, Soak City, Challenge Park, etc.

hehe yea maybe, I knew he was a high executive in the park though, but I didnt remember for what exactly.
I tend to agree that it should be an even number (including the person with the handicap) for exactly the reason you mentioned. Just make it 4 or 6 (or 3 or 5 excluding the person with the handicap) because many times the seat ends up going out empty despite efforts to fill it and the people get PO'ed.

On the other hand, you knew that only 5 were allowed so you should have sent a person (or two for company) through the regular line and not made an issue with the ride-ops. It's an issue of policy, not an issue of the ops letting you or not letting you do something. If they let all 6 ride, then they were not following the policy.
