I read on some other site where someone was killed after riding a coaster in 1994, Is this just a rumor or did it actually happen?

Well, that could be the incident at PGA, where a guest decided to retrieve his hat in an restricted area and was killed by a rider riding the Top Gun ride.
No, it clearly stated that they died at Cedar Point. It said it happened AFTER riding a ride. The ride was not mentioned.

Let me see, someone rode a coaster in 1994 and died after that? Well I'm sure one of the coaster riders in 1994 has been killed in the past 5 years so I will say yes :)
The coaster in question was the Wildcat. The cause of death had something to do with a medical condition which was known to the victim at the time of the park visit. Said victim had apparently been cleared by a physician for riding roller coasters prior to the visit. The fatality was most likely not directly caused by the ride, although the ride may have been a contributing factor.

Wow, I didnt know that. Only incident I had remember from CP was when a guy almost lost his arm on the Mean Streak.
Rideman is correct. If I remember correctly it was a girl with a heart problem not known before she rode the ride.....The hand/arm incident was on the mine ride I believe......But again I'm not 100% sure
Yes its true, the kid went to my high school Chippewa Valley. From what I remember after getting off one of the coasters he went into the bathroom and died in there sadly. He did have more then heart problems if I remember right and shouldn't have been on a coaster. I remember when they had the moment of silence in our school and then the rumors and whatnot floated around.

No, actually, I'm reasonably certain the hand incident was on Mean Streak and is directly responsible for the finger-catchers (nylon brushes) where the steel plate used to be) installed at the uptrack end of the platform.

Yes - Dave and FireDragon are correct. The hand accident was on Mean Streak. I still have the Toledo news clip on video.
