A Question of Themeing

Will it be complete as in the promo videos along with a coal conveyor and building? Will there be streams neatly lined with rocks and lush lawns? And in the picture link, there's a fountain near the barrel roll. Is that installed?

I am just curious about how the themeing is looking.. I know there's boulders in place around the barrel roll, but that's all I've seen so far (there's probably more).

I know that CP spent so much on this ride and part of that reason must be from the themeing aspect of the ride.

Any answers? Any questions? Let's make a useful discussion..

P.S. the testing videos of the ride look AWESOME! I can't wait to go and I think that this will be as great a thrill as the bigger rides in the park - or bigger.

The coal conveyor is not there, nor does the fountain appear to be there. It's relatively hard to see the middle of the course from anywhere but the station and Mean Streak's lift. Majority of area is taken up by a gravel road for maintenance and trees are scattered around as well as fences around the low zones.

The canyons looks great in person and the queue/station is by far the most beautiful work CP has ever done.

I should mention that the water effect by the heartline roll was still being worked on when I was there on Monday. I have a picture of it, but I've yet to go through all of them.

That's all the theming installed on the ride. I'm guessing that's all that's getting installed this season too - or ever. There's no coal conveyor or canyon after the first bunny hill. The lawn will take time to grown in - they didn't use sod. There does appear to be hinting at some water feature in the "heartline" canyon. There's a big gray pipe on top of the canyon that leads into the pond.

I think for Cedar Point, they did a great job on the theming. At least from the pics, the station looks amazing. From what I hear, it looks even better in person. Even though some of the theme is "missing", I think what we got is above average for what we're used to at the park.

Another thing is that what is in place (minus the water effect), it is all the type of theming that would disappear over time. The canyons are concrete and the station is quite permanent.

Like I said above, the station/queue is by far the best part of the theme. It fits in so well with the atmosphere, that you wouldn't even think it was brand new.

I should mention the smell of fresh new wood all around the station/queue house is great.

There's a lot more to this ride than getting on it. I was watching the thing go around and around for almost an hour.

Craig - I'll trade you the white sand beach and crystal clear water to be able to sit and watch Maverick test for hours. :)

^Give me that offer in Nov. through Apr.; I'll be there. It's finally nice outside, May is the greatest month of the year. :)

I agree, from what I can see, the themeing turned out great. The area that can be seen from the pond is pretty cool and the area around the station is amazing. It really is an extension of Fronteir Town rather than a ride that happens to be placed there. The trees are even bigger than I thought they'd be too.

I have a question. The canyons on the animation has a little piece of rock on the top. Does it have that in the real ride?

No.
