How do the crowds compare to last year's? I'm just wondering if the price of gas is affecting CP.
Thank you.
So far they have been better than last year. It was so good opening week that they decided to stay open an extra hour every night for the week.

Yes the crowd levels are lesser than they were last year..it suprises me because with the new coaster and all.
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
Hmmmm....I guess I'll just flip a coin,.Thanks for the answers anyway.I guess you guys went on different days.
I was wondering the same thing.
I'm going there tomorrow, though, so I guess I'll find out for myself.
It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.
I have gone every year in June on Friday's, and this year seams to be a nice moderate crowd. Specially when the buses (school) leave at 7-8pm. You can get many rides in after this time.
Great for season pass holders.

Well, I was there on opening weekend and Memorial weekend this year and last. The crowds were noticeably higher this year for sure. Maverick probably played a part in that since I was there on the weekend it was supposed to open, and on the weekend it did open... But overall, lines were longer everywhere in the park...
I would expect crowds from this point on to be similar to last year's. And, no, the price of gas shouldn't affect crowds, in my opinion. The cost of gas is a small fraction of what most people spend on an average trip to the Point...

On my first two trips of the year (May 14, 15, 21) the crowds were noticably higher. I chose the 14 and 15 thinking the park would be dead since it was the first Monday and Tuesday of the season, but it was packed with school groups. All of those school field trips had one less week to work with so they were all packed into 2 weeks instead of 3.
May 21 was average. I've been to the park on Victoria Day Monday (Canadian holiday) for the past 4 years and they've all been pretty comparable. This year the weather was ideal so there was a slight increase.
When I was there Sunday and yesterday I can't really make a judgement because the weather was bad and the rain cleared out the park. From what I saw yesterday morning when the skies were showing some blue, the crowds were pretty steady. All in all, I would say that the crowds are slightly higher this year. I'm glad to see that for Cedar Point, but I do hope next year they open the first weekend of May.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I think that it's hard to compare last year to this year simply because they opened a week later. Like Vince said, I hope they open the first weekend of May next year. I was also there the first Monday thinking it would be dead but found lot's of school groups cramming in their trips. Still, it's hard to predict how crowds will be. I know this last Sunday the park was the emptiest it's been all year on days I've been there. I attribute that to the weather and graduations.
While the 3 bones a gallon will be a crimp in most people's style that won't keep the attendance down. Especially with nice weather and a new coaster. Local regional economic downturns (like a certain employer letting go 1400 people) might start to take its toll though. In the end i'll bet dollars to donuts that the attendance for this year will be up.
