a few questions about the point

Hello. This is my first post, but I've been following along the last few days.
I am from west central Iowa and we are leaving tonight at about 5:00 to go the Cedar Point. It's a 12 hour drive, but it should be well-worth it.. right? :-)

Anyway, I'd heard that the park opens an hour before the rides. The time listed on CP's website for opening is 8:00.. this is the time the gate opens, correct?

What is the best place to park in your opinion?
Anything else I should know?

Also, not that it is really that important, but if you could list your top 5 or so favorites at CP.. :-)

I hope you are staying at least a couple of days. Gates open at 9:00 and the rides start by 10:00 (some start at 10:00 and some go as soon as the crews are ready -- sometimes right at 9:00). My favorites -- everything!

I don't know about parking, but the best place is probably the Soak City parking lot of the Marina Gate-because it's the closest to MF.

Coaster Ranks: (These coasters below are absolute must ride coasters)

1. MF
2. Raptor
3. Magnum
4. Mantis
5. Mean Streak
6. Gemini

These below are coaster you should ride after getting all of the majors out of the way:

7. Cedar Creek Mine Ride
8. Wilcat
9. Corkscrew
10 Blue Streak
11. Iron Dragon
12. Woodstock's Express
13. (IMO don't even bother) Disaster Transport

Once you complete this mission, if you chose to accept it, you should ride the top 5 again.

Instead of just riding the 13 roller coasters and then starting over at the top, don't forget to include some of the other 31 adult rides, numerous shops, live shows, great food, and Challenge Park.

We are going to spend Saturday and Sunday at the point. I'm planning on long days both days and hitting almost all coasters.. not much more :-)

Riding all coasters is a good idea but make sure you get to ride Power Tower. Its a great ride but i'm like you i usually just ride coasters but i always get Power Tower.

dont listen to cp_bound.....you MUST ride disaster transport. this ride is amazing. also, i think blue streak is another underated ride. there is hardly ever a line for blue streak(on weekdays), so you should find time for riding after raptor.

It okay, but the area of the park that it is located in, is like a ghost town. I have to admit though, that putting the Giant Wheel over there has spiced the area up some.
